There are some characters you can't afford to go indie with. Nolan was semi-indie when he got Batman but....it was ****ing Batman. People were gonna see it regardless, but he just happened to put a decent spin on the character.

Yeah, I think if Refn had made a successful mainstream film while campaigning for Wondy he would have gotten it... we would have heard his interest from WB's press team instead of his own mouth.

Based on his filmography for brutal violence, I'd just rather Refn stick to what he likes. Get Daredevil from Marvel or Y-The Last Man tv show.

Refn and Gosling could make a rocking Daredevil!

I want Tarsem Singh for Wonder Woman.
His last two films Immortals and Mirror Mirror were not only visually delightful but had strong female characters.
A good script and a strong cast-
Emily Blunt for Wonder Woman
Bradley Cooper for Steve Trevor
Clive Owen for Ares

could be a very good movie.

If MoS is successful, maybe attach Snyder's name as producer.

Change Singh for Refn and I'd agree. I thought that Mirror Mirror was one of the worst movies of last year.

Singh would probably make an excellent production artist.

Than a 2013 best actor Oscar nominee?

Had it been 2011 I'd have agreed. He's gone leaps and bounds in the last two years!

Solid cast, but Tarsem Singh isn't there yet... need someone bigger, stronger, hotter and fly-er in the captain's chair.

Also... I don't predict any chemistry between Blunt and Cooper. You never know though, but that gut feeling hit me pretty hard.

If the actress for WW was dead young he would have chemistry

How about someone who actually won an Oscar.

Both are good enough actors to make it work though. But you can never predict such things, can you.

The way I see it, WW is a kind of movie that can be driven by actors. That is why I think that quite unlike Superman an unknown isn't the best thing for WW. A solid cast and a good background team could be enough to put it on people's radars. Looking at Blunt's recent films she is approaching BO draw status quite rapidly. Next years All You Need Is Kill would be crucial to her career which could then potentially spiral into bonafide superstardom.

In terms of direction, it needs someone able to handle the visual setpieces and portraying a strong female character. I don't see it pertinent to have a big name director who can't actually add anything more. Tarsem for me checks both boxes and has a couple of upcoming projects that could add weight to his CV if WB come calling. Having Snyder's name can potentially have the same effect Nolan's name is having for MoS.

Also, I didn't think Mirror Mirror was all that bad. It was way better than the crap fest that was SWATH. I think it kinda depends on what you expect from the movie going in. It was NOT a Tim Burton movie. It fully intended to be all it was- a light hearted humorous take on the story.

Daniel-Day Lewis, Anthony Hopkins, Meryl Streep. I mean we have such fine candidates to choose from.

Somehow, Meryl Streep as Steve Trevor sounds equally sarcastic.

I agree with that statement, but my sheet has three boxes, and Singh only has two check marks... he's a good director, but a WW film needs more than a specialist, it needs a great filmmaker who knows how to make characters loveable and relevant as much strong and super powerful. She's a tricky character. Making her strong is the easy part.

I'm down with Daniel Day Lewis. That guy could play Harry Potter and no one would complain. Hopkins is Marvel contracted. I may be wrong but there seems to be something off about Meryl Streep as Steve though I can't put a finger on it.

I can definitely agree with you there DrCosmic. To some extent, Tarsem has yet to show that quality in his films but he's still very young. It's not like I'm asking him to do one tomorrow. If rumours of Nolan godfathering Dc are right, Tarsem could be helped out in that aspect. Atleast for me, Snyder doesn't tick the third box yet either but if has had Nolan looking over his shoulder. I also think that job (making characters likeable) can be partly done by a good script of course the director is just as important.

But given that he's made three films with Knightly (P&P, Atonement, Anna Karenina), I wouldn't be surprised if he cast her as WW
