I've heard others say they want the Halo 2 mp back for the anniversary but I expect the only mp to be put in would be Halo 4, like how CE had the Reach mp. They likely will not wish to divide up the community, I think 343i doesn't want people to play any other multiplayer besides Halo 4 until 5 comes out.

Yeah, I don't think 343 would have much interest in supporting that. Shame as I never played Halo 2 back then. Have it on pc now but they are shutting the online pretty soon.

Rumor: The Next Xbox Will Retool Achievements
Developers can reportedly add new Achievements on the fly.

When the Xbox 360 launched in 2005, it came packing Achievements, an undeniably addicting meta-game tied into each and every title released on the console. Achievements became such a phenomenon that Sony jumped on the bandwagon with Trophies in 2008, a similar system that replaced Xbox’s “Gamerscore” with PlayStation’s “Trophy Level.”

Either way, eight years later, hunting for Achievements has never been more popular, and according to a report on Polygon, Microsoft intends on allowing developers to approach Achievements differently.

Polygon reports: “With the next Xbox, developers and publishers will be able to add more achievements to a game after launch, without the need to add DLC. This is designed specifically to allow developers to tweak player behavior, perhaps urging players to check out specific areas of a game or get past a difficult spot.”

Interestingly, Polygon further notes that Achievements can be added for “broader events,” like killing a specific amount of enemies in a given amount of time (such as over one particular weekend), and that the new, still-unannounced Xbox may even allow for “cross-platform” and “cross-title” achievements, the former already being done by Sony with PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita (with Trophies), and the latter tethering certain accomplishments in different – but related – games.

They couldn't before? I know on the PS3, all developers need to do is release a patch to include new trophies. I thought the same was the case on 360

No, on 360 more achievements on top of the 1000 pretty much involved some kind of DLC.

Which big PS3 games did that then? Sounds interesting.

Oh. That I see more as just updating the trophy system to get it started. And putting in extra achievements on 360 could be done, it just isn't allowed in the guidelines for creating achievements. What I was trying to ask is whether there are PS3 games with extra trophies on top of 360 game achievements without downloading any extra content (or parting with any extra cash)? As that would be interesting. We nearly always have to pay in some way for most new achievements and they follow a set system for the most part.

Is there any news on downloading content?,One thing I'm really loving about PS4 is that we can play content while downloading them,No more just waiting a long ass time and not able to do much since it can easily be interrupted!!

Im curious on moving our account & keeping everything we have already purchased. If we can do that then that is already them ahead against Sony. BC is not entirely a deal breaker. But not crossing over our digital purchases from the previous generation is a very big deal breaker

I honestly don't care about BC much at all..Not even old Arcade games. I guess I'll keep my 360 for that stuff.

I'm not sure I would call it great news anyway. The cross-game achievements just sounds like a way to try and make people buy other games.

Xbox 720 has DVR-like video capture?

I hope this happens. One of the really good things that PS4 is introducing

Being able to add achievements without DLC is really good (& this should mean we won't have to pay every bloody time) but the rest will just be a huge annoyance to people who don't already own or plan to buy all games linked by these achievements (& care about achievements). I guess it might be fun if you do own the games though.

This will be amazing in the lounge. Not so much in the bedroom though!

Can't imagine playing a horror on this. Actually I probably won't be, haha.

Eh...the IllumiRoom thing isn't grabbing me. For one, it wouldn't work in my living room (no walls to the left or right of my tv) and two...even if I had walls surrounding my TV the quality wouldn't be nearly as detailed as just playing it on the Tv. In the ads you can barely see what's going on in the parts outside of the TV.

Yeah you'd need a bit of space around your TV for it to project on. From what the guy in the video said the thing adapts to whatever furniture etc you might have and the general geography of your room. That's a big part of what the tech is doing. So it projects colours that work with whatever your furniture/walls are to create the different effects. I love the furniture distortion effects that happen every time you shoot!

And the quality isn't supposed to be anywhere near that of your TV which he covers near the end of the video. You're still playing on your TV alone, these effects are for immersion rather than gameplay although one setting allows you to have in game items highlighted outside of your TV to where you would have to go to get to it.

Definitely not for everyone but I think I'll like it (in the lounge only).

^^^^From that article.

We've heard from other sources that Microsoft is not where they want to be at this point in the pre-launch development of Durango. A reliable source—one who was not part of our reporting about the Respawn game—tells us that Microsoft is as much as six months behind in producing content for the new console, despite an expected late-2013 launch. Another tells us that Microsoft recently cancelled several internal next-gen projects because they were not coming together as hoped. These sources have told us that, comparatively, Sony is in better shape and further along with hardware and software development for PlayStation 4.
Goes along with the delay Microsoft had with their press conference.
