If this were a normal X-men movie I probably wouldn't be too thrilled with the costume, but since it takes place in a dystopian future I think the costume is perfect. The hair is a nice alternative to a mohawk, and I really dig the slightly armoured look. My only real complaint is that she isn't wearing an X anywhere. If she's the leader of the X-men she should have an X somewhere. Unless the X-men no longer exist in the future (in which case Storm isn't their leader).

films ar eusually shot on actors schedules or when sets are ready.

The assumination has been only a small part of film would be set In future. But If Halle films for 3 months and patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellan are shooting even longer that raises questions of how much screentime future will get. Will there be 25 to 30 mintues In future as the report of most of film In 1973 suggested or will there be an a more equal split between the 2 time frames.halle wraps In late july according to report.Film wraps In October.

I am loving these costumes, especially Storm! I think the hair is great and I'm loving the little comic book nods, without it being too forced. I think it really fits with the dystopian future.
I just had a thought though, what if this is one of a few costumes/versions we see of storm and the rest of the x-men. As in stoping one event in the past isn't enough, and each time an incident is prevented, a different, but similar future is made, until they ultimately fix the future..
That could be a really cool if it was in the film.

Ok Storm costume... my opinion...
I dont know... i

LIKES:
- think storywise it fits well!
- I like all the pieces that makes the costume
- Like the big X in the upperbody (YES THERES A X)
- Like the futuristic and dirty look and looks like she's been running, and fighting, like the comic

BUT:
- I want a bit more colour...
- I want a bit more skin, more cleavage...
- I want a bigger, whiter hair...
- The cape looks a bit odd!

Conclusion:
It incorporates well the story and although i was hoping for more "Storm" and less "Hally" i think it was a good choise. I'm just sad that this could be our last Storm in the movies, and it could be the ultimate oportunity to look like Storm character...

We will see!

I really like the hair but the costume itself just gives me images of what Anne Hathaway would've looked like as The Vulture's daughter in Raimi's Spider-man 4...

I like this new uniform but I can also see why others thought it was plain (& expected it to not be popular). I just hope Halle gets the chance to finally do herself justice with Storm. How far into the pregnancy will she be during the shoot? Storm uses ranged powers so aside from the flying the physicality doesn't necessarily need to be as demanding as it is for the melee characters.

If the latest article is to be believed, she's filming until July. So she'll be 6/7 months gone by then.

Well, reports are she's two to three months along now, and expected to shoot for the next three, so she'll be upwards of six months along by the time she's done.

Thanks. Lets get those action scenes done right now then. She looks great at the moment and could probably do reasonably strenuous stuff. Then save the talky stuff for the last 6 weeks or so. I'm sure that's the plan anyway.

Agree. Looks so much better than the old leather ones that they couldn't even move in. That hurt the Batman movies as well. Bale couldn't even move his head in that costume let alone convince a camera he could beat up anyone wearing it. This photo looks like something someone might actually wear.

The pictures that will be seeing in posters/promotional pictures will look more polished.

The design will likely still be the same. Which is a shame. I don't like all the various straps and such. Just seems like a bit of a confused design.

haha so true. storm's hair gets shorter and shorter with each X-Men movie.

as for the costume/new storm look: hopefully it looks better in context of the film. as of now, i'm in the 'meh' camp.

i'm surprised Bryan isn't front-loading Halle's filming. i agree the costume does a really good job of hiding the bump, but it's not gonna last much longer.... especially not for another 3 months.

I agree with psylockolussus, seeing Halle in the costume makes me a happy camper, my two cents on the whole thing? well it's kinda OK, but to be fair the photo is just not flattering, better lighting and a different angle can sure make it look better.

Exactly and they aren't gonna give them just civilian costumes and prison outfits. Costumes are part of the X-Men's appeal, its a part of the appeal of superhero films. And I liked that they kept the black color from the leather costumes. I knew they aren't gonna go to colorful costumes from black costumes because it won't just flow well.

I do hope that they are prisoners (with the jumpsuits and all) at the beginning of the film. Maybe at that time, Storm will have her wild long hair. They should get into costume when they're ready to destroy the Sentinel program!

Actually since they are mutants, I don't think they have to give them a prisoner outfit. Just lock them up in a cool-looking prison and give them a collar that would deactivate their mutant powers.

It would be kind of weird if they were locked up in costumes. They're supposed to be in there long term... and doing hard labor. Haha what kind of a prisoner gets to keep her cape?

I've been wondering if they're going to use the idea of power-deactivating collars. I would want them to be kind of gnarly with some kind of neurological device that goes into their necks. Just some weak light-up collar like in the comics would not be believable to make one unable to access their powers.

Why not have a similar scene to V for Vendetta where Storm is in prison and they shave her head but leave the middle intact so that it is a mohawk?

In the cartoon, they were locked up wearing their costumes, but of course this isn't a cartoon. But it would be visually appealing and it won't affect the story if mutants are locked up wearing their costume. Prison jumpsuits just look so plain.

LOL they aren't gonna do that. Unless the guards want to make fun of Storm by giving her a mohawk hairstyle.
