I didn't think so. I remember my Dad telling me something to the effect of I must've learned to be gay because none of his sons were born that way from him. I can tell you this: I went from cool to scorching hot/furious in t-minus 10 seconds. Emotions are spontaneous--nothing forced about them.

What Rogue said pissed Storm off...she didn't require a gradual build up to go off on her. She had just got done arguing with her contemporaries--other adults--about that civil rights issue and apparently seeing one of her students talking like that sent her over the edge.

It happens.

That's right boo.

its not the rant that was the problem, pretty much alot of these things felt forced with storm in X3

the rant may have been better if someone else had said it

But at the time of the rant, no one else apparently felt as strongly as Storm did about it. Everyone was pretty passive and on the fence. Consider:

* Beast was like, "You don't shed on the furniture".

* Xavier was like, "Yes Rogue, it appears they've found a cure" (his voice of confirmation added a certain level of validity for that young lady)

* Wolverine was like, "......"

So that leaves Storm to basically stand up (literally) and say "What the f*** is up with you people?!" She was only X-Man to feel as disgusted by the notion as Magneto from jump. The others gradually came around to feeling proud--and even then it was more about being against Magneto & The Brotherhood rather than the concept itself. And some, like poor Rogue, just gave in.

In X2 Storm already told us that "anger" helps her survive. Therefore, I don't know why some of you were so shocked to see that anger come out full-force in the next film.

Anger is Storm's defense mechanism. We all have one.

I'd love to see Ororo get so mad that she loses control of her powers and we get an apocalyptic storm out of it that blows everything to $*&^

I see your point. However, X2 already resolved Storm's defense mechanism of using anger by instead having FAITH.

That's like Jean choosing Cyclops at the end of X2, and X-men 3 comes around and the character ends up with Wolverine. Oh wait...

I don't think Storm had a consistent trajectory for her character growth from movie to movie. I've already debated this point before, but I really don't see anything consistent in her character between the three movies. But people will read in the characterization they want when it's their favourite character (I do it too).

Yeah hopefully they'll tone her down a bit in DOFP.

Maybe they'll include the delivery as part of the last few scenes. They'll show her giving birth to a mutant and they'll call him Alpha, The Ultimate Mutant.

I don't thats going to happen. Bryan Singer already said to Halle Berry that they won't make Storm pregnant in the movie.

They could show Storm losing control and her water breaks.

I wonder if Halle Berry will use her immortal line from Die Another Day when her baby asks who she is: "Yo mama!"
