I am not used to Brienne looking like an actual girl.

Neither is Brienne. But she is going to have to face that aspect of herself very soon.

Is that Brutus? He's a terrible shot.

This is a great episode.

This Theon stuff is very different from the books.

And Jaime's penance begins.

Bear and the Maiden Fair rock version was unexpected.

Yep; was that Roose Bolton that captured Jaime and Briene? Also, did Sam knock boots with that girl who had the baby? I found it odd that the shot would linger for so long if there weren't any significance.

Looking forward to seeing how Dany gets her dragon back.

they have to make up stuff for Theon, he disappeared for three books and everyone thought he was dead, I certainly did. I am curious to see what they come up with.

Not really. What happened to Theon during his absence is told in ADWD. In the book it is told He was sold to Bolton. At the beginning of his imprisonment Bolton allowed him to escape as a game and sent his dogs and men after him and brought him back to the dungeons and cut bits and pieces off of him until ADWD.
It would seem they are entirely ditching that and going another path.

No, Jamie and Brienne are captured by Vargo Hoat and The Brave Companions. Hoat, in the books anyway, payed fealty to Tywin Lannister, but switched to Ribb Starks side when war broke out.

The girl having the baby at Castor's home is the same chick from when the Nights Watch first came to Castor's in the last season. Castor married all of his daughters, and then marries the female offspring, etc. Every female you see is his wife/daughter/granddaughter. He sacrifices every male baby born to the White Walkers. Not wanting to risk loosing her child, she begged Sam to take her with him last season. The camera lingers on her and Sam during the labor scene because she did in fact have a baby boy.

I dunno....

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Theon's torture is a pivotal part of his arc. Since they can't exactly not show him for several seasons and suddenly explain his absence for so long, I think they are just stretching out the "escape". Correct me if I'm wrong, but they haven't explicitly said which one of those men is Bolton's bastard. It's very likely that is Theon's new "friend", who is simply playing with him at this point.

Even though I knew it was going to happen, Jaime getting his hand cut off was still shockingly graphic. But I laughed that it was followed up with the rock version of The Bear and the Maiden Fair.

Yeah, the music was a total wtf moment, and killed any emotion brought about by the last scene. Very poor music choice, I felt. The last scene itself was pretty tense, I expected them to cut (heh) away from it and just have a "thunk" and scream. Was not expecting them to show it, much less be so graphic. The hand twitch when it happened was a nice touch.

I think it would be a waste of time to extend the escape like that but who knows.
