Jor-El's part

Supes walking out from the Fortress.

"You believe your son is safe?" "I WILL FIND HIM!"

Double punch at the end.

I think my favorite part of the trailer was the shot of him leaving the fortress in the suit. I know it was in the CC trailer but finally seeing it in 1080 HD quality was fantastic.

I also loved Zod's "I WILL FIND HIM!" Simply intense! That bit along with the music (which has officially grown on me) at that point in the trailer is what makes it extremely difficult for me not to slam the replay button once the glorious punches are thrown. Oh, and about those punches, it's a given I love that part as well.

I have to echo what a lot of others are saying about the Jor-El and Pa Kent quotables; they're excellent. It's perfect this movie is opening on the weekend of Father's Day - I have to take my brother and dad to see this that Sunday!

Jor El's speech as Superman leaves the fortress and flies off.

Costner's lines seem remarkably similar to Glen Ford's lines to Jeff East in S:TM. To be clear the entire Ford lines:
Quote:
No, no. Now, you listen to me. When you first came to us, we thought people would come and take you away because, when they found out, you know, the things you could do... and that worried us a lot. But then a man gets older, and he starts thinking differently and things get very clear. And one thing I do know, son, and that is you are here for a *reason*. I don't know whose reason, or whatever the reason is... Maybe it's because... uh... I don't know. But I do know one thing. It's *not* to score touchdowns. Huh?
In fact the tailer somehow seems to show a lot of Donner S:TM references.

Enjoyed the tender moment with Coster where he replies, "You are my son."

However, spotting Lexcorp, and seeing that finally included into a WB live action Superman movie gave me goosebumps.

The poignancy of saying goodbye to Kal-El. The way Jor-El runs his fingers tenderly over his head. The piano tune. The shot of the ship approaching Earth, and how the music starts building up, signaling that this is the beginning of a fantastic adventure.

I'm so pleased my first thread ever is off to such a strong start!

My favorite lines in the trailer:

"He'll be an outcast. They'll kill him."

"How?"

My favorite shot of the trailer:

The begining with Krypton at war. The music along with Jor-El watching on helplessly made me shd a tear.
The opening really gives you a sense of hopelessness as you see Kryptons inhabitants kill each other by the millions. Great in contrast to the end of the trailer where hope is abundant in spades, Supes even says his symbol is the symbol of hope. Really goes to show you that even under impossible circumstances and bleak and sorrowful beginings, hope can emerge.

When Superman begins flying, he looks down to see his shadow getting smaller and smaller.

It was a beautiful way to experience flight with him.

Crowe & Costner put this thing into orbit. And then Cavill smashed it out even further! I wasn't really following this production too closely up till now but that's about to change.

The whole trailer was awesome, but this was definitely the one moment that put a lump in my throat.

Thanks! I owe it to the awesome trailer they gave us. If the trailer had been lackluster or a disappointment, then people wouldn't have so many favorite scenes and this thread wouldn't exist. Thankfully the trailer blew everyones minds. Imagine these boards when the movie comes out!

I totally agree! Thats great directing right there. Very subtle and I was wondering if anyone else noticed. Snyder sure has a flare for the visual.

Yup; as a father of an adopted child, I got reeeeal blubbery for this one.

Funny, my favourite part of a trailer about Superman which included scenes of an apparent devastating war on Krypton, Superman being detained by the military, fighting Krypto-Kraken and giving Zod (?) two massive punches..... My favourite part was a Dad/Child moment

Kudos to you sir. I am adopted and this line had me borderline blubbering, especially since my father also passed away early in my life.

Also, Krypto-Kraken? I love this term! I henceforth dub the giant robot "Krypto-Kraken!!" (Can I do that? Do I have the authority? Probably not, but a great name for the creature non the less Bren.)

"Excuse me" is up there. Just because, even though it's such a small moment, it's so much Superman – his humility and friendly charm. And Cavill nails it! I'm so glad he seems to be so capable of transfering his natural charm to his acting.

A spectacular trailer, filled with action and explosions, visual candy and effects. And what do people like? The lines. The acting. The emotions that are there. This surely has to mean something, right?

Consider that many fans argued that we don't need to see Krypton again or the ship leaving the planet and landing to Earth or that we wouldn't have to see the Kents, because that would be boring. And, whatayouknow, people love everything about them. Either this was a well edited trailer ala Phantom Menace or this movie will be indeed something amazing.
