For some reason, I have no faith in Kick Ass 2 if that can even be called a superhero film.

Thor: The Dark World looks like it could definitely take the title from Wolverine but it had better be pure perfection.
The Wolverine is the king heading in to November.

Iron Man 3 was good but The Wolverine did everything right. The less said about the awful Man of Steel the better.

The Wolverine 8.5/10
Iron Man 3 & Man of Steel 8/10

It's been an awesome year so far for superhero movies. Wolverine could have been the best ever if not for the 3rd act. So I wouldnt be surprised if Thor is the best when it arrives this November.

Dunno...that's what we all thought about TW, and look how the movie turned out...

I have a feeling that kick ass 2 might surprise us...

Kick Ass 2 won't be a surprise because it's predecessor already covered that. What I mean is, Kick Ass was a huge surprise, between the shocking violence, great characters and satisfying action.. that movie was definitely a hit. I don't think Kick Ass 2 will be able to deliver, between a new director, a crap load of new characters and that whole thing with Jim Carrey I don't see it being a surprise.

Kick-Ass 2 looks pretty accurate to the comic. And while the comic book was not as good as Kick-Ass 1 imo, the Hit-Girl run it's also based on is excellent. So I think it will deliver. Hit Girl is a great character.

Until Thor & Kick-Ass 2 rolls around, for me Marvel movies didn't do as well for me. I don't even think I have the words to describe Kiss Kiss Bang Bang 2/Lethal Weapon with RDJ Iron Man 3. I mean Pepper made a better hero than Tony and enough said about the Mandarin. Plus it was just a too comedic for a guy supposedly suffering from PTSD from The Avengers. As for Wolverine, he is the MOST overrated X-Men/Marvel character, and frankly I never felt the character warranted the need for solo films in the first place. I preferred the team movies when it wasn't the Wolverine & Friends show.

2013 is hands down DC's year for me. SUPERMAN/MOS FTW!

I hated the first Kick-Ass, so I have no interest in the sequel.

Like def28 said, if it's anything like kick ass vol 2 and the hit-girl comics it was based on, it'll be tons of fun

She was the best part of the movie. I saw it knowing nothing beforehand about the comic, and I just thought the movie was pretty stupid.

Yeah, I was surprised at how good it was tbh. Even the Big Daddy death was handled well. Much better then the comic imo. I can see Kick-Ass not being everyones type of flick though.

So far it's really a toss up between IM3 and TW for me. But Im leaning with The Wolverine right now. Really enjoyed both though so tough to pick, very different films.

If the last 20 minutes The Wolverine were as good as the first 90 minutes, it would have been the best superhero film of the year for me. But no that wasn't the case and usually, the last 20 minutes should be the best part of the movie so it can be called great. But its my favorite superhero movie this year.

1. Iron Man 3
2. The Wolverine

3. Man of Steel

Yup definitely IMO the best superhero movie this year so far...MOS came a close second, I wasnt overwhelmed with IM3 though...If Thor is as good as the trailers look then it could give Wolverine a run for its money for me.

For me it is The Wolverine. Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel are both on the same level right now Kick Ass 2 and Thor 2 have a really good chance though

it is for me while it was MOS the wolverine does what mos fails at

it let the film breathe it didn't rush any thing it let the viewer soak in the drama and emotional character driven moments and developed the relationship of logan/mariko very well and was realistically done

aside from finale battle which delves into origins territory this film is damn near perfect for me but those last 20 minutes or so didn't hurt the film as a whole for me

9/10

It's better than IM3 and pisses all over MoS' dead corpse of a film.

And I'm sure a TV-like movie like Thor 2 seems to be will have nothing on it.

Based on the thread question, no. Both IM3 and MoS beat this pretty soundly. They hold together as films. TW doesn't. But Thor2 is in a primo spot to win the year now unless Kick-Ass2 is as good or better than Kick-Ass1(which I'd say is better than any of the superhero films we've got this year so far).

MOS is one of my top five favorite CB films of all time and my favorite movie of the year so far. However, TW is a close second.

While i like all the CBM so far,TW is the clear winner for me.

IM3 is a close second. But i don't like how...chaotic the movie felt.Especially during the last fight scene, with all the remote control suits. Also hated how...fragile the armor seems like.

As far as MOS...man, where to begin..

MOS to me is like an IMAGE comic from the nineties...all pretty splash pages art and that's it. the movie set the standard when it comes to action scenes, but because there's absolutely no build up to them, all the action scenes fell flat to me. The movie has no sense of..escalations.Things just happened. And much like Goyer previous works, it's too plot heavy, at the cost of everything else. Almost all characters just became plot devices.

The Wolverine does almost everything right IMO. The movie took it's time telling the story. It lets you gets to know all the characters. Also loved the fact that, when the characters interacts, they don't always talk about things that involved the plot, they have normal interactions-as we see with scenes between Logan and Mariko.

Even if the movie kinda stumbled during the final act,you get the sense that the movie was building towards it.There's a real sense of escalations..

So yeah...The Wolverine is the winner for me personally...

TV Like Movie?
Do you say that because of the GoT, Alan Taylor connection??
Because nothing about that movie looks "TV-like" to me...
and in this day and age of awesome premium cables shows, that's an outdated insult anyway
u crazy man, u crazy

and as for the question of the thread, thinkin IM3 was better, I liked tW, but you can't have a third act like that and be called the best superhero flick of the summer. yes I know IM3's ending left something to be desired too, but watching wolverine was like watching an amazing gymnastic routine and the chick falls and compound fractures her leg at the end.

I remember people labeling Avengers as a made for tv movie because of Joss Whedon both before and after it premiered. Yeah, that one really stuck hard. lol
