I just finished watching this and she is a good actor. I saw The Hunger Games first a few months ago too and I've got Winter's Bone queued for watching in a few weeks.

All the interviews I've seen of her come across as genuine and real so she's either a far better actor than some critics are giving her or she really does not give a **** about her fame and is enjoying being herself. I prefer to think it's the latter.

There's just something funny seeing Mystique with one of those to-go boxes standing inside a trailer like that.

I love the bit where she says, "I just had to finish everyone's burgers." She isn't waiting for a strong breeze to knock her down but isn't overweight either (except by Hollywood standards, but **** them). She has the right attitude to show what real women look like, and it's not what we always get in movies.

she is 2 years away from becoming skinny. then everyone will say that she grew up. yes because when you get older your body loses body fat and muscle mass.

lets hope i am wrong. in 2012 and 2013 JL is a perfect girl.

I respect the fact that she sees herself as a role model in the important things...she doesn't have to act like a proper young lady, no foul language, no humor, etc.....BUT, when it comes to the lives of young ladies, she understands that how she treats her body, IS important as a role model. I just find that very refreshing in Hollywood today....

I think women like Taylor Swift set themselves up for a fall when they are sooooooo aware of their public persona that it doesn't seem they are real. She won't cuss in public, she tries not to be seen drinking in public, she tries to stay SOOOOO straight that it doesn't even seem real. I know that many people don't drink and cuss, I understand that, but it just seems that Jennifer is still being herself which is far more refreshing and a better role model, than Taylor trying to be soooo far above it all that it doesn't seem real. If that makes any sense at all...lol

I think we have already seen her baby fat fall off, so if anyone uses that as an excuse they are just wrong.

We all saw how well that worked out for Britney Spears pre-breakdown and virtually any other ex-Mouseketeer. The strain of being "perfect" causes an implosion and resulting anti-personality that some don't recover from.

At least Jennifer Lawrence seems to be on an even keel and doesn't tip too much one way or another.

It totally depends on whether or not that straight-edge quality they try and maintain is genuine or not. If you're pretending to be a goody-two-shoes for promotional reasons, OF COURSE that facade is going to break at some point, whether through a mental breakdown from the pressures of living a lie, or the "truth" getting out.

But if you are genuinely concerned with putting your best foot forward and/or happen to be a genuinely decent human being, then the likelihood of some Spears or Lohan break down is minimal, because you are not pretending to be someone you are not - there is no facade to break.

The issue is that people feel any celeb that says they have discipline or don't do some vice is doing it for self promotion even if they aren't.

Honestly, Lawrence is cute and all - not ugly by ANY means - but THIS is the one time where I thought "DAMN, she's hot as hell", though its mostly because this look reminds me of a chick I dated in college (hair and shape of the face):

Very true - people also have this mentality where they love to watch celebrities spiral out of control, not out of jealousy or anything like that, but simply because we like to see "good" people fall. It's pretty sad.

/quote Green Goblin speech to Spiderman /endquote

I agree but it is usually the case for celebrities ( or fake ones, ie reality TV stars, etc ) that are full of themselves.
