First off, there's a night and day difference between the set pics/finished product for the first costume, so I'm not worried about the material, crinkles, bulges in these new set pics.

Second, while I loved the suit in TASM, and loved the movie in general, with Spiderman wearing that costume, for some reason I never actually felt like I was watching THE spiderman in that movie. I know it sounds weird and it's kinda hard to explain, but just in every single scene, including the final swing, I never felt like I was watching the spiderman I know and love.. More like a spiderman-in-training or something. Which would make sense for that movie ha

I wonder why there's no muscle shading on the suit?

Also, i'm sure they will, but I hope the mat-white eyes have a little more sleekness (shiny-ness) and texture added to them in post-production

Not sure, but to me at least, whatever's being shot in these set pics seems more about just capturing Spidey's physical movements and presence, not necessarily the details of his suit/body. It just seems like that to me since there's clearly equipment under the suit and everything, boots included, But who knows. I do agree there seemed to be much more muscle shading in pics of the first movies' suit. I pretty much almost always reserve judgement til I see the finished product though

Any talk of this getting a teaser this summer?

Lots of highly anticipated geek movies coming out very soon. I think it'd be a missed opportunity not to do it. They should have enough footage to put a little something together by now.

Regarding the texture.... I'm sure it will be better looking in post, but does anyone think that this new, smoother texture might be less costly to enhance/imitate with CG? TASM had so much texture and so much going on, that I feel like they may have had to spend more money on Spidey CGI than they'll have to on this new suit. Does anyone with CG experience know if this may be true?

new suit looks amazing to me. couldn't be happier with it. i was worried about the eyes looking bad from certain angles, but nope, perfection.

feel bad for the haters, honestly do.

The new suit is like... wow. I love it, a lot. It might be the best looking Spidey suit on film yet. Looks so close to the comics, 616 or Ultimate-it just goes both ways.

Definitely. By the time SDCC rolls around towards the end of July, there will be less than 10 months until the movie comes out. As a gauge, TASM had a SDCC teaser as well, a little under a year before that came out.

by the way, if you watch tasm1 again, you'll notice in several non cgi scenes that the costume, because of it's material, has these air pocket wrinkle things. it was never perfectly form fitting, despite being very tight, in non-cgi shots.

same thing will happen probably in this film, it will perfectly hug the body in cgi shots, but have the odd wrinkle (not air-pocket, due to the nature of the new red cloth material) in the non-cgi scenes.

this will of course depend on the pose spider-man is in.

so yeah, i really wouldn't worry about the suit looking too loose or too wrinkly in the final product.

ps. seeing spidey suited up in the daytime makes me so happy.

Two things:

One. Bigger eyes are great in those new new pictures. Lovely pictures in general. Cool webshooters.
Two. I don't think that's the "real" fabric for the suit. I think it's not skin tight and better quality materials because of the wires that are holding him. My bet is "stunts-only suit". I might be wrong in this, anyway.

It looks awesome no matter what.

This could so help that one poster's fantasy who always believed Peter and Harry should've been lovers.

Anyone remember him? Lol, his posts were freaking hilarious.

Maybe they've realised how stupid noticeable muscle shading looks. I hope so.
