You're asking a question that's been asked for 40 years, that nobody on the side of ignorance has ever had a good answer for.

What would they do with all that new found free time?

But seriously, the amount of gore they get away with is insane. If this was a film, they might be hard pressed to get a R. Here, there only slapped with TV-14!

The pulled episode is now on iTunes and amazon to download. That's what I'm doing tonight

I think we all should download the episode. The response via iTunes for a single episode can help build the case to NBC that this show has an audience.

Well, I watched the pulled episode, curtesy of Amazon, and I cannot for the life of me see why they pulled it. Things that make you shake your head.

because of one word : children.

america is full of hypocrites.

i remember i had a teacher in high school, really cool guy, we liked alot of the same stuff overall. he said he'd watch any sort of gore , ANY disturbing amount of violence, be it implied or shown graphically....

except if that violence involved children.

dude couldn't even handle the first 10 minutes of any harry potter movie.

that's the basic mindset of america : kill men, kill women, kill the elderly, eh, idc, that's just entertainment. BUT OMG NOT THE CHILDREN !!!!! NOT THE DOGS TOO !!!!!!!

i can't stand that kind of double standard ******** mindset.

i guess i'd have to be a parent to truly understand.

Apparently it is society's #1 priority to protect children so they can then grow into adults who will have their elementary rights taken away from them on a whim.

true dat. or maybe adults are just so hateful because of the fact that their rights are taken away that they'd rather see an adult get murdered brutally , than to see a child who reminds them of what they used to be receiving the same treatment.

You can also buy a season pass for season 1 on itunes.

I think I may do it just to have it.

Seeing Hannibal and Chilton interact before Hannibal's incarceration ought to be interesting.

Agreed. I can just see that inflated sense of self-importance.

I always had the vibe that Chilton was a bit of a creeper himself, and I hope that comes across in this version as well.

They're bringing Chilton in this early? It kind of feels like they might be trying to do too much at once. I mean, was Chilton really significant before Hannibal got locked up?

chilton ? did i read that correctly?

well ****, this'll be interesting.

also, am i the only one who sees a bit of a problem in the fact that all of lecter's kills so far seem to be copycat murders ? doesn't that kind of make it seem that lecter isn't really that original at all ?

that's just my one complaint about the show really.

Sometimes being a copy cat killer is ingenious though as it's easier for Hannibal to get away with them without people noticing that there's another cannibalistic serial killer.

It also explains how he developed the skill of understanding other serial killers so well. In addition to being a psychiatrist, he re-stages their crimes not only to satiate his own bloodlust, but to see the world through the eyes of other killers.

fair enough. it does make sense when you put it that way.

Plus with no standard MO, the cops can't nail him down. Random is safer.

Also, who knows...what Hannibal is doing could provide to even more copycat killers and then Lector can move on to having his killings hidden within all of the chaos he created. Actually, that would be a phenomenal arc.
