Another great interview of Fuller:
http://www.denofgeek.com/tv/hannibal...-more%E2%80%A6

Things that made me VERY EXCITED AND CURIOUS:

Talking about Gillian Anderson's part:
Quote:
That opened up this whole door where the character isn’t retired because she’s of retirement age, but because something traumatic happened during her practice, and then it opened up this whole story between her and Hannibal Lecter and how much she knows about him and what is the nature of their relationship… We kind of build to a great place by the end of the series when we’re wondering how much does she know? How much has she figured out? How much is she in danger? You have this icy, sexy woman across from this icy sexy man and there’s a vibration that happens between them that is really rich and exciting to watch

Also:
Quote:
Fuller: There are some images that we have in the show coming up later in the season where, here, I’ll show you some of the things that we see [reaches for his phone and starts flipping through images].

Will Graham has a very vivid imagination, so this is an image that he sees when he looks at Hannibal in a compromised state. [Shows me the image]

Interviewer: Oh wow.

Fuller: It’s a little bit of Korean legend. We have a very distinct visual style. That’s a David Slade image.

Interviewer:[I can’t tell you what I’m looking at, but it’s strong, beautiful, otherworldly. Fuller is obviously proud to bits of Hannibal, and with very good reason.]

Fuller:[Whispers conspiratorially]That’s actually from the finale. So, good stuff coming up! [laughs].
Another interesting bit of the article is how he ended up with NBC.

Not only that, but in some cases, it seems like he's doing it just to **** with Will and the FBI and then sit back and watch them squirm. Hannibal feels as if he's untouchable at this point, a feeling that is probably shared by most serial killers.

I also think bringing Chilton in now is a good call. Let's remember that Chilton HATES Hannibal more than anything in this world, and vice versa. However, it's a bit of a stretch for that kind of hatred to be felt towards an incarcerated Hannibal, who can only do so much to torture Chilton from behind bars. It'll be cool to see a tension between the two right from the get-go, and eventually, to see Hannibal make a fool out of Chilton.

I bet the Chilton/Lecter rivalry stems from something comparatively trivial, like Lecter exposes Chilton for plagiarizing parts of a research paper, ruining his academic/authorship career and resigning him to run a facility for the criminally insane.

I'm pretty sure someone will scoop it up if NBC cancels.

New episode for me tonight FINALLY.

If it's truly the case, NBC has no one but themselves to blame, the morons.

If this gets cancelled, and nobody picks it up, I will not be a happy camper, especially when some terminally stupid shows are seemingly in their 1,000th season.

But yea, this didn't belong on NBC in the first place.

NBC earned some respect by picking it up in the first place, because I happen to think networks should be aiming for change instead of the same old, same old, but they really pissed away any good will with me by dropping it in april, in an awful timeslot. Not january of this season, not the summer, not the start of next season, ****ing APRIL! Come on now, NBC... you can at least pretend that you care about things.

As long as someone else picks it up, I don't mind too much but I'd prefer it stayed on NBC just so we wouldn't have to worry about no one picking it up. This is one of the smartest shows on TV and deserves to stick around, unlike a lot of garbage that keeps running.

What, you're not happy with season 45 of NCIS?

I'd be curious to know how many people bought that skipped episode from Amazon and iTunes, as it would be an indicator of how many people are actually watching. How accurate are ratings anyhow?

Can't wait! This may be the best show I am watching right now. Tied with Game of Thrones, lol.

I'm really curious about the dynamic between Hannibal and Gillian Anderson's character.

And it will be amusing to see Hannibal and Chilton interact knowing how that ends up.

I wonder if we'll ever get like some flashback montage revealing everything Hannibal's done so far.

- the girl in the field
- Abigail's friend
- planting the blood from the rock on her body to frame the field victim's brother
- killing the Angel-Maker (?)

I disagree. Not on whether or not it's a good call, that remains to be seen -but on their shared hatred having to of stemmed from something prior to Hannibal's time in prison. While I can only speak for the their rivalry in the films, it always seemed to be that Chilton was hugely ambitious and viewed Hannibal as his shot at the big time. Instead of that, Hannibal merely toyed with him, mocking him at every turn, humiliating Chilton and never giving the guy a single thing to work with.

My impression is that for a guy as prideful as Chilton, few things could hurt him worse than crushing his ego and dreams of fame and fortune. This is more than enough for Chilton to hate Hannibal with a passion. As to Hannibal's hatred of Chilton, I'm not sure he ever truly hated him -more like a disdain and complete lack of respect. If it was hatred on Hannibal's part, I imagine it came from Chilton just being generally unpleasant, fumbling around and not treating him with the respect Hannibal believes himself due.

I'm only through episode five. I wish they'd establish the friendship between Will and Jack a bit more. I'm sick of Will's emo daddy issues toward Jack and Jack being nothing more than a manipulative bastard.

Episode 5 is all that's aired in the States.

6 is tonight.

Oh weird, I didn't realize Canada got it a day early. That's odd.

Episode six...

Perhaps my favorite episode yet. Eddy Izzard was great and the guy playing Chilton did an incredible job of capturing Anthony Heald's inflections. Chilton's presence made a lot sense in the way the show is telling the story, I was worried they were just shoving him in there for the sake of it, but they made it work.

It's midway through the season and I'm pretty sure every cast member bar the annoying NCIS trio has eaten at Hannibal's house.

No Abigail again this week and I still haven't seen episode four. Waiting until I can get an uncut version some how.
