Yeah, both Zimmer and Williams are amazing.

It's like saying Pizza is better than Spaghetti.

Both excellent. Different, yet the same. Pizza works for parties, Spaghetti works for romantic dinners.

Pizza also works for dinner, just not fancy dinners. Spaghetti also works for parties, just.... ok I've lost this metaphor.

Both composers are good. Excuse me while I try and figure out my dinner.

Well "Flight" is easily my favorite track I've heard so far. I love the first half with the guitar version of the trailer theme.

The guitar stuff is such a good call on Zimmer's part. It radiates excitement, power and Superman.

'Flight' was released in 2 parts as a bonus for people who bought advanced tickets on movietickets.com & Fandango ... someone just combined part 1 & 2 to get the full song.

Song 'DNA' was released by WB

THe above song Whiplash posted was just the trailer music.

Ultimately, Zimmer's popular, modern, and adds a sense of identity to his scores.

While he's not my top pick for this film, what he's done with MOS is better than what I have anticipated, and am looking forward to the music made for this feature. But why do we feel like we have to bash the old to welcome the new?

Is Jerry Goldsmith any less awesome because of later composers? Would the use of synths and electric guitars work for Superman the movie?

Composers are hired for what they do on a subconscious level. Anything else is a bonus
Thank you, Sir,

You do know that Williams has been scoring blockbusters for decades and decades, right? Did you mean to say that his tone won't fit for *this* particular blockbuster?

I hope that's what they meant...and I could totally see Williams coming up with a score to fit the tone of Man of Steel!

I think the ending of Journey to the Line sounds eerily similar to the ending of Terminator 3

^ I mean, the more technostuff now. But yes, JW scored for the ORIGINAL blockbusters and still does today! Though I've heard him blend synthesizers real well for the Jurassic Park soundtrack.
I don't want to second guess John Williams, just lay out the possibility of not being able to "fit" Man of Steel. However, I think he would be more than capable, and feel like he was never considered because of his connection to the Donnerverse.
