Savin was one of the best parts of the movie. JBD did a great job, and I was so glad I was redeemed of pointing out that it was JBD who got caught on set in the IP suit. Latino Review had it right and they bought the excuse that it was a stunt man.

One of the better "henchman" villains in the superhero history. He had just enough personality and Dale delivered a very strong performance. I'm glad that he wasn't portrayed as a victim of Killian but rather someone who embraced Extremis.

He was awesome, but Ellen Brandt was even more badass to me.

Yeah, loved Savin in this movie. Great "lieutenant" for a villain.

I was kinda expecting more from "Firepower", aka Jack Taggert, but he had about two lines and then was gone.

It was clear why Savin was Killian's right hand man.

This guy has a bright future ahead of him. He really was one of those people involved in the movie who surprised me, in the sense that before I really hadn't paid that much attention to them, and their talent caught me off-guard. The other guy is composer Brian Tyler, who really surprised me with his score. I never paid too much attention to his work, I thought of him as "another one of those standard action composers". Boy, was I wrong. I'm listening to this movie's score non-stop.

Makes me wonder why they even bothered using Firepower aka Taggert for such a small role. They could've given him another name.

Considering what happens due to his "fire power" is actually quite ironic.

Oh, he used his "firepower," all right.
His purpose, of course, was the plot catalyst. I just expected a *little* more face time with him, is all.

I know he had a purpose, I just don't get why they made him Firepower. Seems like that exploding role could have been given to someone with another name without losing its impact. Firepower could've been used in a movie based on Armor Wars while actually wearing his armor.

I suspect the writers just prefer to use names of D-list characters as easter eggs, rather than random ones.

Seems to me like he didn't want to use the name Mallen so he went though Ironmans rouges gallery and saw the name Eric Savin and just decided it sounds better. The character was made to look just like and acts similar to Mallen. He was picking names off of the comic characters and slapping them on his characters with out any regard to those characters histories.

Comic Eric Savin

Movie Eric Savin

Comic Mallen

Mallen was suppose to be another villain in the film, but was cut out.

have Iron Man and Coldblood even met, in the books? i did some backissue shopping before the movie. and it seemed like Savin was more of a deathlok adversary.
