Same thing is happening to me. Is growing on me.
Just to name another recent movie, with TDKR it happened exactly the other way around. The more I thought about it, the more I disliked it. I guess knowing there's another chapter of Iron Man/Tony Stark story to be told in Avengers 2, makes it all even more exciting somehow. Like, I can't wait to see how they develop all this storylines from Phase II. It really is remarkable what Marvel is doing. |

With the Christmas theme behind it will this end up as a Holiday favorite like Die Hard and Batman Returns?
I'd also like to know how different the version of IM3 that China got.

I'm going to watch this again tonight. It's been a good week and a half since I've seen it so my eyes should be refreshed enough.

Eventhough I loved Catwoman in Rises, Pepper beats her out because she is better intigrated into Iron Man and Iron Man 3. And the filmmakers even subverted her damsel in distress role at the end. I loved that! ![]() |

Me, too. I hope they put both versions on the DVD or at least put the extra scenes where we can see them.

Well I gave it a 9 out of 10 and I'm going to see it again Tuesday. I would've voted but the poll is closed. I didn't wait for the after credits scene, I've seen every Marvel movie up to now, mainly because who I was with. But I will wait Tuesday for it.
BTW, I've been reading comics since the 60s and Marvel in particular since the early 70s. I've waited a lifetime for these movies to be a reality. The posters claiming SM 3 was better are completely insane. As others have said I would rate this right behind the Avengers. PS nothing absolutely nothing, not even "Batman and Robin" was worse than Superman 3. |

Personally I thought the post credit scene was the best one yet. Sure it doesn't setup anything, but it is freaking hilarious.

Letting the parking lot clear out is never a waste of time imo.

I didn't bother waiting to see the post-credits scene in the cinema when I had already caved in and watched it the day before on YT.

The best thing that can be said about the post-credits scene is (besides Ruffalo's second appearance as Banner) that it provides a closure to the narration made by Stark during the entire movie.
It was nice to finally see a film that has some sort of justification for the narration/voice over. |

I was very disappointed about the Mandarin..... but over all it was a good movie. I think the jokes was to much over the top. I give it a 7 out of 10. I just hope he will be in Avengers 2

Haven't read through all the pages, but... was I the only one who kindasorta wanted Pepper and Maya to make out?
No? Just me, then? Also, because it cannot be said enough: IRON MAN 3 PASSED BECHDEL! It was short, but sweet, sweet, sweet! And damn, but Pepper and Peggy C. remain the gold standard for today's CBM "love interests". I love how the MCU developed them, and I really, really loved everything about Pepper in this movie. Paltrow was perfect! Although looking at Man of Steel, I think Amy Adams' version of Lois Lane will join them.

I thought this was the best out of the 3 movies, so 9/10.

Did it pass the Bechdel Test? They were talking about the Mandarin in their two scenes and Killian, weren't they?

Decent flick. Liked the action. Wish to have seen Rhodes as war machine in the end.
The twist was dumb. Didnt like it. The after credits scene was lame. I wish I didnt have to wait that long to get to it. |

I guess I count it as passing Bechdel because the conversation, although it was about men, it was primarily about Maya's job and her boss...
I don't know, I'm willing to give it a pass. Or maybe I'm just desperate for it to pass.

You all are on this Mandarin thing but let me tell the biggest problem in the movie--Maya. Her acting was as wooden as the Indian whose cloak Tony stole. Her acting made Marion Cotillard in TDKR look like Meryl Steep.

Yeah, she was just alright. Rebecca Hall was good in The Town but all her interviews made it apparent that she had little interest in giving her all in this movie, not that it would've even required a whole hell of a lot, since she's probably the weakest character.
I mean James Badge Dale gave a really nice, convincing personality to Savin, who was a fairly simple "Brawn" character. I really liked him in this actually. Last edited by Son of Coul; 05-05-2013 at 12:18 AM. |
