I got the 3d tickets, should I take the loss and go to the 2d showing instead (if allowed too)? Just hearing complaining about the format on here has me nervous

Btw when I bought my tickets they were seats 95 and 96 or something out of 150 seats and that was at around 2pm on the 18th. I went back to get the brochure with the digital download info and they were down to 5 tickets left today (the 23rd) so it looks like it's taken a week to sell out at my theater.

I think tickets will go even faster in about a week once we enter June you'll see the sales spike.

What complaining are you hearing? The 3D in this movie is really nice! I've seen the trailers in 3D and man it's going to be an AWESOME experience!

I agree. I have also heard the same comments from others I know as well. I have also heard that this film will have more flight sequences than any movie ever made. The 3D will look glorious.

I have 2 more friends that been asking me to get them MOS tickets from Walmart as they wanna see it with me. Im bored, have nothing to do so figure I'd get there tickets now. Its 1am, I get to Walmart and the woman in electronics tells me they only sell the tickets during the day time. Waist of gas!!! I did manage to get my Movie Masters figure, and a couple MOS cups and the official MOS guide, so not too much of a waist.

I'm quite surprised at how well the MOS stuff is selling, many of the MOS items were almost sold out, the movie guide being one of them.

Looking like I'll be taking another trip back here tomorrow.

I picked up 3 tickets for the advanced showing last week. I noticed that there is a code to register them online. The problem is I am now on vacation, and I won't be back until the 12th. Did I have to register those online in advance in order for them to work and be recognized at my theater n the 13th?
Of course I thing of this now, doh!

The code is simply to get access to the vudu stuff, like the prequel comic book and free comic cartoons.

The ticket itself is redeemed at the theater, like a sort of gift certificate.

Only they would know. Haven't released any info on it yet. I did read that the toys are selling like hotcakes though.

It'll be great if walmart gives out a free ticket for anyone who buys a certain $$ value of toys... say $200? That way, it's a sure way to sellout all tickets...

It's hard to say, the store I'm at has probably sold about 1/2 of them ... but this is in a 25,000 population town ... in bigger cities, I'm sure more demand. In general, they're not going to sell all million, but that shouldn't be a shock, because not many people come to Walmart to buy movie tickets. It's the real die hards (like me) buying them.

I could imagine them getting up to 5 million (not 10 million like would be if sold all) in box office from these showings throughout the country ... to go along with whatever it makes at midnight.

It's probably a bad tie-up then.. They would be better off tying up with McDonals for instance...

Walmart will sell Superman toys regardless, so they'll be promoting superman regardless... so, no added benefit in having them sell the tickets, in fact, maybe lost of opportunity...

I think they would have been better off just releasing the film at 7pm Thursday.

I'm kinda hoping that the 7pm Walmart screening is half full so I can stretch out and enjoy it.

But then, they won't have the 'free marketing'...

I think tying up with McD for instance would be great.. I think McD can sell out the entire Thursday for instance... if they do something like this:

- Get a free early preview of MOS if you buy 10 value meals... (they have a card where each meal you buy you get a stamp... and McD pays for the tickets... and they get to give out free MOS toys.. .

That's huge marketing.. so, you have a guaranteed sell out Thurs, and then the rest of the people will buy their own tickets for Fri-Sun, maybe guaranteeing the biggest opening of all time...

Has any non-kids movie ever been promoted with McD in the US?
