To be fair, he got the prize for not being Bush. They couldn't exactly give him the Physics prize, so they went with the Peace one.

Clue: He didn't deserve the honor in the first place...

You deserve this honor by what you "do", your "actions"....not "speeches"....oh wait, stupid me, that's also how he became President. Hell, I fell for it the first time around.

He's very good at giving speeches.... ; )

Hey, they gave it to Kissinger, Arafat, and Al Gore (for making a movie), I mean, c'mon. After all that, Obama doesn't seem that unworthy.

Well true, some historians see the Nobel Peace Prize as a nothing honor since Kissinger, but besides Gore at least the other two were actually a part of some peace talks at some time, in a position to do something great. Obama was not even a 3 year US Senator...and according to the amount of no shows on votes, barely that.

Good thing Russia came in to save the day...i'm pretty sure Obama would have done the strike with or without congress OR public approval.

That eerily sounds a lot like the Cuban Missile crisis where the idea was floated of the U.S. removing missiles out of Turkey in exchange for Russia removing their missiles from Cuba which was ultimately agreed upon. That way both Kennedy and Khrushchev could "save face". Makes me wonder if Kerry floated that idea intentionally or if it was just truly luck.

Seriously? I don't understand what the heck he is exactly saying?

"We will do a targeted air strike"

"I'm postponing the vote in congress to give diplomacy a chance".

Um what?

It's an official presidential address live on all major news networks.

My bad, but Obama's initial comments were misleading.

Obama needs a targeted strike on healthcare reform if he isn't going to do it on Syria.

I feel that President Obama hasn't made a difference and doesn't contribute very much in his 4 or 5 years as a Prez besides talking in his speeches. Also, he hasn't paid attention to the domestic issues such as immigration, healthcare, and economy, and etc. which irritate me. Prior to the election, his priority was supposedly the economy to stimulate the economy in the worst state. However, unfortunately, after his victory in election, his priority became completely non-existent and he focused on other issues.

The economy has gotten worse and worse and at the same time, the unemployment rate goes up despite it slightly decreases in some states.

Despite I'm indifferent to the politics, I'm truly disappointed with Obama as the President and his performance as the Prez is pretty poor IMO. I disagree with him on the Syrian situation right now.

I just hope that President will back off Syria and focus on the domestic issues which aren't still resolved yet.

I think the only way we will get any resolution to domestic issues at this point is vote the republicans out of the house in 2014 or vote a Republican into the white House in 2016

Are you serious? Have you seen the political climate in Washington the last 3-4 years? Domestic issues aren't going to be fixed. What gave you that idea? Congress's stellar record of doing nothing? The self-inflicted debt ceiling crisis (heading for Part 2)? There's no such thing as compromise anymore. If you're a Republican compromising with Obama is the death of your political career. Even no-brainer bills like the Violence Against Women act or relief for Hurricane Sandy were huge arguments. You seriously think big issues like the economy, immigration and healthcare are going somewhere? Syria or no Syria the writing has been on the wall for awhile now.
