Default Marvel Film Titles: Use Characters' "nicknames"?

Exhibit: A: "The Dark Knight" (2008)
Exhibit B: "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012)
Exhibit C: "Man of Steel" (2013)

So, in the future, should Marvel look into their characters' nicknames/alternate names, as titles for future films, or should they stick to 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.?

Spider-Man: Web-Slinger, Wall-Crawler, Scarlet Spider, Spidey
Wolverine: Logan, Weapon X
Fantastic Four: FF, First Family
X-Men: Children of the Atom, the Mutants,
Iron Man: The Golden Avenger, the Futurist
Hulk: Green Scar, Worldbreaker, Man-Monster, Ol' Greenskin
Thor: God of Thunder, Odinson, Lord of Thunder, Master of the Storm
Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty, Cap, Star-Spangled Avenger, Shield Slinger, Super-Soldier

Weapon X would work. Children of the Atom could work. God of Thunder works better as a subtitle than an actual title. I don't see much of the others working though.

Also stuff like "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "The Incredible Hulk" can be added. The Mighty Thor, The Invincible Iron Man etc

To use nicknames just for the sake of using them isn't a good idea because, for example, "Spidey" is a lame title for a Spider-Man movie. The Dark Knight gets away with it because "Dark Knight" is a status that Bruce Wayne earns in that movie. Man of Steel's purpose for that title has yet to be seen. It sounds alright, but I would have preferred something with "Superman".

Yeah, I'd prefer it tie into the themes of the film, like TDK and TDKR do. I remember thinking that TDKR was a pretty lame title at first but it went very, very well with the movie. Unlike most "Rise" titles that just denote an origin.

Agreed with this, concerning the examples listed at least. Sentinel of Liberty would make a good subtitle too.

I think the purpose is to distance this movie from all the crap movies that have come since the '78 SUPERMAN.

Captain America: Wing Head
Hulk: Jade Jaws

I hope they call the Inhumans the UNCANNY Inhumans - since they were Uncanny before the X-Men were...

I don't think Man Of Steel necessarily needs a purpose, but it might anyway. Nor do I think The Dark Knight does (even though it did).

It doesn't but I rolled my eyes when I heard the title because it sounds like they're continuing their copying of the Batman franchise; Batman Begins, then Superman Returns, The Dark Knight, now Man of Steel. They even copied the font both times.

I don't find that necessarily being a bad thing. They are both representative of the same brand.

I prefer numbers and subtitles than "nicknames" for the title of the movie.
