Unless the Wolverine in the 70s scenes is the 70s Wolverine.

I'm really curious as to how they handle time travel and still have it make sense. If, say, Wolverine's mind gets switched with his past self, what does he have to return to once the future is changed? Is there going to be an unconscious Wolverine's body conveniently waiting for him in the altered timeline? Doesn't make much sense. If he can go back to anything it's his body back in the dark!future that he left. But then I'm rather sceptical that the filmmakers will gow down the "absolutely nothing changes and everybody in the future dies futile deaths" route of the original story. Plus, if Wolverine's consciousness travel into the past, do the future X-Men have to lug his unconscious body around? Doesn't really fit the character IMO.

Physical timetravel also poses problems, which is probably why in so many movies the travellers from the future are simply killed off in the past near the end.

Lol, I was just joking (and stating the truth on my part: I simply remembered it, so no need to rewatch the film for me). Please take no offence as none was intended

If it is a brain swap, I expect they reboot the character after DoFP. It will basically put a wrap on Jackman's take. Otherwise, I don't see how they get around it. The character won't die in all likelyhood, but his future would be completely altered. Would the character have had the adamantium procedure (since this technically precedes Origins)? Why would the future Wolverine even go through with such a procedure with the knowledge of everything that transpires later on? Or maybe the mind gets swapped again at the end and the 70's conscience returns? That way all the events could be preserved. That's the only way in fact.

Reboot the character wtf? So what, James Marsden and Famke Jannsen return at the end to see a different actor with claws?

he meant the personality and his past, since the time travel will have an impact on 70's Wolverine, now that he meets the x-men 30 years before than the original trilogy.

if 70's Wolverine meets the x-men, it will mean to write a new history for Logan past. A few events could still happen, but not all, now that he has met and worked with the x-men.

This means a Second timeline.

Who said they are returning? We know Famke is in The Wolverine but that takes place in the old timeline prior to any mind swap or physical time travel we will see in DoFP. Marsden? Anyone's guess. Nobody knows what the plan is following this movie. What I do expect to see, especially if a Wolverine mind swap is involved, is this version of the character to never cross paths with the future X-Men again. If they depict a corrected timeline involving those actors at the end of DoFP, I'd expect it to involve Scott/Jean living a happy marriage together with a daughter, with the war having been prevented and the world in a relatively peaceful existence. I'd expect that's something Jackman's Wolverine would want, as opposed to going down the same road of the OT, should he get the opportunity to do things over again knowing what he now knows. It's all contingent on a mind swipe being permanent and Wolverine surviving. If future Wolverine physically time travels, then it's all a moot point, because I think they would kill the future version off before he could contact his past self, who would still be serving in 'Nam.

It was also being called the "Avenger initiative" starting with the end credit scene in Iron Man, so it was always around. Although I loved it when RDJ referred to it as a "super-secret boy band" in Iron Man 2.

I watched Avengers with my nephew this weekend. Then we ran around the house for the rest of the afternoon zapping bad guys - he was carrying his Captain America shield, and I was wearing his Iron Man glove.

it will be interesting to see the movie posters, i can imagine they will play alot on stewart, mcavoy, mckellen and fassbender, in a kinda split image with the backgrounds of each side being the future and past

that would probably be the best way to go about it

If you think Wolverine won't be big player in posters your wrong.Especilly since he seems to be character who connects both timelines.

oh yeah there will be a poster with wolverine also at some point, probably with 2 backgrounds, but i think magneto and Xavier will be seen as more important to the story, even if it was wolverine standing infront of 2 timelines dark future and 70s doesn't tell you much at all.. just WOLVERINE IS BACK! thats pretty much it

How can you be back if you never left?
He's been in every freakin movie. Even in FC they had him for the cameo.

I don't think he's boring per se, but his story has been thoroughly explored in this film series to the point where I'm not sure I care all that much about him anymore.

They can be use to help with accents (Colossus, Rogue) or other languages (Magneto), not only for non english actors.

I doubt Bryan would give Daniel a Russian accent this late in the game. He can still accentuate Anna's southern twang from the previous trilogy. Halle's is too far gone...LOL

I doubt Sy and Bingbing will have many lines, if any. And I'm fine with that.
