Yep, was coming to say the exact same thing. If you ignore the blue eyes, he looks like what you'd imagine a young James Marsden would look.

i thought the other way round - his lower face is nothing like James "far too gaunt" Marsden, it's his eyes that have the similarity

yeah, his lips are really different from James.

I found his eyes/nose closer to James than his lower face.

Maybe Bryan Singer Is going to say screwyou to Origins and have teenage cyclops In film.
Actors In 20's routinly play teenagers In Films and TV.Him Ignoring Origins and Last Stand
has precendace since it was his idea to have Moira In first class,Ignore origins Emma, and have Xavier crippled and him and magneto go their own way In 1962.

Days of future past may close the door on first Class era,and If James marsden appears In ending Is It shock to imagine Bryan would want Cyclops In 1970's to tie Into changes In timeframe.

(sorry for this brief offtopic)
There's a trailer without voice-over or dialogue, just music and images from the movie. I was surprised at how good it looked. Honestly, I think there's a reason why they decided to release it on cinemas (don't forget the same thing happened with Toy Story 2), but we'll see.

Anyway, back to X-Men, I can't imagine how crowded the Days of Future Past poster will look. So many names, so many faces to put. It's a great selling point, I must say.

I know right.

Planes could be a good movie and I think it could be really appealing to kids. Of course there's no way that it would beat DOFP in the opening weekend, but I wouldn't happy if DOFP gets 60 to 100 million dollars at the opening weekend then in 2nd place, Planes with 30 to 40 million dollars. I feel like DOFP should only be the main film release in its opening weekend.

I wouldn't rely too heavily on that reasoning if I were you, Angamb.

After all, McAvoy's lips are 100% fuller than Patrick Stewarts and facially the two actors do not resemble each other by any stretch of the imagination.

I think he's been cast to play a young Scott Summers.

I feel like he looks a little too mature for a teen/younger version of Cyke. And James Marsden looked like he was in his late 20s in X1.

There Is question mark on when exactly the OT took place.

That was something they wanted to keep vague.

First Class being tied to 1962 opened door for a retcon of trilogy taking place In 1990's.
Teenage Cyclops In 1973 events and 30ish Cyclops In 1990's set trilogy would work.

James Marsden was In his 20's when X_Men came out but It Is accepted he's suspose to be playing older.

We are probally looking at 3 time peorids In film 1:1973 2:Future and 3;Altered future at end of film

There will be no retcon for the trilogy to take place in the 90's and repeatedly stating it, will not make it the case.

It is quite clearly set in the early 00's. There was no vagueness about it. They did not pick a specific year but there were more than enough references to make it of that era.

If Bryan Singer actually isn't ignoring any of the films, then it doesn't matter when the events of the original trilogy take place, as introducing Cyclops in the 1970s contradicts the events of X-Men Origins.
