I remember watching the teaser and wondering if it was real or not.

I was searching all over the internet to see if it was a fake!

I remember the number you had to dial to hear the Joker torture someone. Gave me chills.

Posted this in the BB forum

Really looks like the Joker (scene : BB, when Crane takes Dawes to the basement)

Not the best quality pic, but if you watch the Blu-Ray, he really looks like him lol

Even if it's not him, I dont care, I want to believe haha

So I've been doing some light reading and the book of the day is The Dark Knight Trilogy: The Complete Screenplays, and I must say...it brings to light on so many choices the Nolans and Goyer made for each film...the way they broadened Gotham more and more by filming at other locations(such as New York and Pittsburgh for TDKR) and how Gotham is meant to be a parallel for a prison as well for Bruce to escape because as much as Gotham are, in a way, Bruce's parents since its their legacy, he needed to escape Gotham as well but he couldn't let his city die either.

Also, love how Christopher Nolan said parts in TDKR makes you want to really hate Bane, but on the flipside, it's hard to really hate Joker in TDK because he's so much fun

If you want to believe it's Joker, sure I guess. Would bring some balance on how Joker became such a big deal quickly(as he escaped Arkham Asylum) and Gordon brings the attention up to Batman, lol.

I always made the assumption that the Joker had escaped Arkham during the events of BB.

That's certainly how The Batman series did it I believe.

If Joker had been a former Arkham patient then his fingerprints, DNA, and dental work would have turned up something when they checked them in TDK. But he was a blank slate. An enigma. No record or history of any kind.

Yep

If one wants to believe, they can I suppose, but I never thought that. The Joker was this mysterious evil that came to the scene to rival Batman.

I was just watching Spartacus (1960) and I noticed that at around 2 hours and 30 minutes, when the two armies stand in the field, the shots used remind me of the shots of the GCPD and the militia standing across from each other on the streets (pre-Batman arrival). And we know Nolan is a big Kubrick fan.

Thinking on it, the stories in Spartacus and TDKR are kinda similar. A bit reaching and it only goes so far but:
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
A slave (Bruce to his pain, Spartacus to Romans) escapes his master and is forced to confront it/them head on with an army behind them (Bruce with the physical embodiment of his pain in Bane at the end as well as him confronting his pain in The Pit but he doesn't have an army there and Spartacus with the Romans).

Or when the other inmates were brealing out of Arkham, he stayed there for a few minutes and stole his patient file and erased the database
