Would it be fair to say that TDK got people to fall in love with batman again? It was for me as I didn't watch BB untill after TDK.

Not only have you guys got me reminiscing about TDK's pure greatness, the last few pages reminded me of just how badass Batman was in TDK.

And that's exactly why I don't fret about how much time he clocked in on the job. As far as I'm concerned TDK as a whole is a great representation of the "Batman in his prime" period.

And he's got some great subtle moments, too. My personal favorite was when he's confronting Dent at the end:

Batman: "What happened to Rachel wasn't chance. We decided to act. We three"
Dent: "Then why was it me who was the only one who lost everything?"
Batman: ".....it wasn't"

That moment was great. His voice goes down an octave where he almost whispers that last line. He was feeling the same pain Harvey was over Rachel. He can't even tell him that.

Yeah that's fair. Not for me though. I fell back in love with Batman with Batman Begins, when I saw it 4 (or was it 5?) times in the cinema back in the summer of 2005. I spent the whole first half of the decade completely away from Bats. All because I was so insulted as a 10 year old after watching Batman & Robin. I rented that **** in 1998 and couldn't watch it in one sitting LOL. Early 99 I borrowed a copy of Knightfall from a friend, and I really wasn't a comic book reader when I was younger, and I was so annoyed with what we were given by Shumacher that I threw my hands up in the air and said **** BATMAN ON FILM (not quite those words).

I was stupid because I missed the entirety of Batman Beyond and the Justice League animated series. But Begins brought me back. TDK on the other hand brought me into the graphic novel world. As my childhood was all about Bruce Timm and Tim Burton.

I imagine TDK brought a LOT of ppl back to the character.

That's one of my favorite moments as well. As much as I criticize Nolan's Batman/Bruce Wayne sometimes, there are plenty of moments that are absolutely fantastic.

I think that entire last scene is one of, if not the best scene in TDK...and it didn't even have Joker in it!

I miss the post-Begins days where I'd read as many Batman comics as I could get my hands on, while daydreaming about where the sequels to BB might go. It was just pure, unadulterated excitement and enthusiasm.

It's all in the eyes. Bale's best scene in that film for sure.

I loved it when Batman showed up at the crime scene and Gordon gave him alone time at the scene to do his thing. Reminded of the animated series.

Its good but nothing will beat the interrogation scene for me.

Gordon, Batman and the Joker all in the same scene and top of their game. Batman losing his cool and Joker at his mischief making best, Gordon trying to control it all but being utterly helpless. Pure cinema gold.

Lt. James Gordon: Where is he?
The Joker: What's the time?
Lt. James Gordon: What difference does that make?
The Joker: Well, depending on the time, he may in one spot, or several.

Seriously though, I love JGL, but Bale sells that bat-swarm theme in a way that JGL clearly doesn't. JGL seems bemused, Bale seems like he is embracing his destiny with reverence.

Bemused? He seems like a little kid who's shocked/excited by what's happening. And why would people throw up at one of the greatest most emotional endings in history? Ahhh you poor people. Such a great mirror scene and one of my favorite film endings OF ALL TIME.

Bruce looks like he's embracing his fears. And Robin looks like he's embracing his destiny.

No, not literally. But people making UGHHH IM GONNA BE SICK emoticons makes me sad for you people who cant find enjoyment in something so epic and beautiful. It's seriously one of the greatest endings ive ever seen. Probably the most emotional ending ive ever experienced along with Inception's. Nolan ALWAYS delivers with his finales.

No need to feel sad for me. I enjoy watching TDKR.

I think "epic and beautiful" is a bit much describing TDKR's finale, though.

For you who like the movie yes, but for those who don't like is one of the worst ways to finish the trilogy. This ending annoys me.

But how? It's the perfect bookend. Batman passing the mantle off to Robin. It ends like it began in many ways. Begins opens with daylight, a young happy Bruce with a female friend, with his whole life ahead of him. But that gets cut off. Then it goes to the first time we see Bale's face. It's a closeup and he's trapped in a prison with sadness all over his face.

Then the trilogy ends with Bruce as an adult in a open space during the day. An older happy Bruce with a female friend, with his whole life ahead of him. The last shot of Bale is a shot in the distance and he's smiling. At peace. For the first time since he was that 8 year old kid he's actually happy.

How does anyone who love the character of Bruce Wayne and this trilogy HATE this ending? It will baffle me until the day I die.

We'll just have to differ on that. I find the ending feels a little emotionally manipulative and contrived at numerous points. The endings to Begins and TDK felt much more natural and infused with emotion that really tugged at me. Only time I've ever gotten teary at a Batman ending was TDK in theatres... just because the ending was so perfect.

Yeah... not a fan of this moment in the ending.

As with all Blake moments.
