Reeve's Bumbling Clark puts me off.
Cavill's just got the right amount of mild manneredness, humility, and anonymity as Clark especially the one at the end. Cavill's too serious always frowning Supes is not as great to me as Clark's warm but manly and authoritative Superman. |

Isn't that how it supposed to be?
I could be wrong, not sure what the creators vision of Clark really is. Just thought that Clark is always intentionally more bumbling to disguising his ID |

I am guessing I will still rank Superman 2 the best with STM obviously 2nd. I did like SR so we'll see if MOS can place 3rd..

I can't vote it's unfair. STM and MOS are the best for their respective gens.

I don't know, I don't like Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor much to like Superman I
Smallville and Superman Returns had BETTER Lex Luthors! |

The only comics I can think of that also had the OTT bumbling and goofy Clark is All Star Superman and John's last Superman run (his Up up and Away had a much better Clark portrayal). Clark should be mild-mannered and humble, but never should he be too goofy and bumbling. IMO of course. |

In Man of Steel, Clark and Superman are hardly distinguishable, they seem just like the same person! |

I said Man of Steel , but your right it's not entirely fair to compare the two. Reeve was a great Superman for his time. Cavill did great job in this one. |

This is kind of not fair because Superman The Movie paved the way. Superhero films are a normal thing now. The 70's were before many of the current fans were born, and some of the Luthor and Otis stuff seems camp now a days.

As a modern fan, with all my respect towards Reeve... Cavill really won me over. He is the definitive live action Superman for me.

THIS! It'd be like comparing a silent adventure film to something like ROTLA. Besides MOS still has that "new movie" effect, so it will be time until opinions simmer.

You know....superman 3 and 4 were so bad that they're entertaining to watch. MOS was just depressingly bad.
