It made chuckle. They even made him 33 years old.
I had to point that out to my family.

Not understanding the joyless comments. It is a battle, war, and Clark is making tough, almost impossible choices. The awe of the citizens was all I needed.

His first kiss with Lois was the perfect response to everything.

There is nothing hamfisted in this film imo. Even Jor-El's words in context are much less "grand", more practical and wise.

I didn't have any problems with Jor-El's lines.

But you have trouble with a stain glass window? I understand you have a problem with it, but I am not exactly sure why. Yes, Christ imagery is there, but it isn't like they beat you over the head with it. Not even close.

Not hearing much commentary on Michael Shannon as Zod. Was he good? Great? Forgettable? Awesome?

Thus far, that's the only real Christ imagery I perceived from this film, so I don't see your 'hamfisted' claims, and I'm a freakin' atheist.

I didn't even notice the window. I was watching the actors.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I think it does.

Shannon was great as Zod. His attitude was perfect especially when you consider the method of having children on Krypton. They have their specific duty and follow it.

I went with about 10 people, and they all noticed and commented on it.

You know what, I don't even really care that much about that part. I only mentioned it because I had criticized Singer for it. If that was the only problem it had, then I wouldn't have cared in the least. There are a ton of problems with this film.

Too many things, too many little moments for the characters that I loved so much to pick a favorite.

Mark Waid is getting attacked on Twitter for not liking the movie. Yeah, I think this is going to divide the fans.

Once again, that's the only scene I consider Christ-like. Other than that, I don't see any other imagery 'hamfisted' into this movie.

Shannon was good, at times very good. A few moments where I think it slightly missed the mark, but he was more then solid. His work in the third act is the most important and I think he really made it work.

Lighthouse- I think the actors are so well suited for their parts, that with new villains in a sequel such as Lex/Metallo/Brainiac you could end up loving this as a potential franchise.

I was wondering if you don't like these type of references in general or is it the way they are presented. Snyder loves imagery and may have gotten into the symbolism a bit much , but I didn't notice it the way you did.

Before I watch the film, I have a feeling it's a film with good acting, good visuals, action that is bogged down by subpar writing and choppy editing.
