On the whole "this is cruel and unusual punishment" for the characters thing. Unless Peggy has no access to any form of media, she knows Steve is alive and back. Probably important for her soul as much as his. But yes, it should be heart wrenching and painful.

No idea honestly. But if I was doing it, I'd build up to it a bit. Have Steve almost avoiding it, afraid of the situation, and having Natasha possibly encouraging him.

I'd also have it tied to the Winter Solider. She could have some knowledge of him, which would bring the flashbacks into play.

Yeah, it'd be a great way to end the film, having him confront his fear of seeing Peggy. End with them dancing to an old fashioned ballroom song at a veterans hall or something.

Also, I really wish they hadn't neglected Cap and Stark's friendship. I love the bromance between Banner and Stark but I hate how they've become the 'Marvel Bromance' that everyone loves when really, I always found Tony and Steve's friendship was crucial as a theme to the whole team. I'm hoping Avengers 2 develops that in the same way that Star Trek 2 developed Kirk and Spock's friendship.

I think we'll get more of that in A2. There wasn't much room in Avengers for them to develop anything more past the initial "you're a jerk" phase. The mutual respect they gained at the end will, I hope, turn into friendship in the sequel. Banner and Stark were easy to pair up as friends because they already had a lot in common. Stark/Cap...not as much.

Yeah, that makes sense. I guess I'm just worried they'll run with the Stark Banner thing because of it's popularity.

Me too. I guess it's never a bad thing to give people more of what they want, but I'd much rather see more scenes with Stark and Cap.

I mean, it might have been funny to see Stark confiding in Banner but when you think about it, Steve could have been a great character to weigh in on Tony's anxiety, post New York incident. I could see a really nice moment between the characters there. Oh well.

Cap and Tony's friendship has always been a big aspect of the Marvel U and I hope the MCU capitalizes on that.

I hate that they neglected the Steve/Tony friendship as well. Like it was said, their whole friendship is crucial to the strength of the Avengers theme. If there is anything that I don't like in The Avengers, it's the de-emphasizing of the Stony bromance. I hope they fix that with The Avengers 2 but it's highly likely they won't, given the popularity of the so-called Science Bros and that's a shame.

I wouldn't worry too much with Joss Whedon at the helm. He really understands these characters, and being the comicbook fanboy he is, I'm sure he's aware of the Steve-Tony relationship. I think the scene in TA where Cap and Stark are alone after Coulsons death and have a talk was a good foundation.

As for the post credits scene in IM3, I doubt Whedon had much involvement in it; it was probably more a Fiege/Black thing for the fans.

I do think Joss recognizes that the Stark/Rogers friendship is one of the most integral, long-standing friendships in the Marvel U. He said in interviews that he wanted to play with their antagonistic dynamics some, though... sort of riffing lightly on what occurred between the characters in Civil War.

In the main Avengers title, though, at least what I've read up to now, their friendship is well preserved, and they're still buddies in Avengers Assemble. So I do think they'll develop it more.

The whole Science bros. thing though stemmed likely from the friendship between RDJ and Mark Ruffalo, and then became a great way to root Banner/Hulk more with the team.

What I'm really interested in is seeing how Cap and Widow's friendship develop after the events in this movie, and also seeing more scenes between Thor and Cap and Cap and Banner.

Okay, basically, I just want everything with Cap LOL!

At some point in the movie, Tony will shout "YOU NEVER PAY ATTENTION TO ME!" at Bruce and storm out. The rest of the team will just stare awkwardly at their shoes as Bruce follows him with an embarrassed look on his face.

I don't care what happened the comics. I love Cap but I loved the Banner/Stark's relationship and want to see more of that.

I'm a little disappointed that we haven't seen any set photos of Crossbones in costume. I can't see him not donning the mask. I mean, they got Winter Soldier right, Crossbones was practically made to be in a movie.

Me too, really hoping we get all sorts of goodies for WS and Dark World from SDCC, I know we'll have at least a booth for Agents of SHIELD, and with Clark there, I'm sure he'll have some kind of video

Well to be fair we've only seen him shooting in 1 scene and he's dressed as law enforcement which we know he isn't. So we haven't seen what he looks like in the rest of the movie.

Yeah, I'm 90% sure he'll have the cool suit, but I just wish we could have seen it by now. Hopefully SDCC. Probably not a trailer, but some pictures, and hopefully for Thor: TDW we get a look at Kurse.

Even if we get just a minimalist teaser poster or something, I'd approve.
