Anyone hear the big news? WB has found their new Batman for BvS and presumably Justice League.

Ben Affleck.

I'm grabbing popcorn to watch the Internet melt into madness.

There, are you satisfied now? This vindicates both Latino Review and what Elmayimbe posted on twitter.

Michael Phelps should be Aquaman. He maybe a fish out of water in the acting department, but could make up for it in the swimming scenes.

I thought RR stood for Rocket Raccoon in this context, and not Ryan Reynolds.

Swimming scenes will probably be mostly CGI anyway XD The speed at which Aquaman moves in water would make even Phelps' jaw drop.

Green Lantern Corps: The Wachowskis- Matrix, Cloud Atlas

Cloud Atlas was a movie I liked. Visually it had the mix of many different timelines. Neo- tokyo reminded me of Oa. I think aesthetically, Wachowskis will 'get' the character which really was the fundamental problem with the last movie.

Wonder Woman- Peter Jackson(LOTR)/ Cinematographer- Tarsem Singh(Immortals).

Initially, I was vouching for Jackson for JL and Tarsem for Wonder Woman. Then I realized that would possibly limit the scope of both the movies. Jackson is a perfectionist of the mould of Nolan rather than a visionary like Spielberg and Abrams and I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just the line of director he appears to be IMO. He is indeed ideal for Wonder Woman and given that the shooting for Hobbit is getting over soon, if should be available to make a Wonder Woman on the scale of his usual movies- LOTR, Hobbit, King Kong. Tarsem's visuals are a piece of art and if should with his 'immortals' experience be a worthy deputy and future director of this franchise.

Flash- Pete Travis(Vantage Point, Dredd)

In case I'm missing something enlighten me. Coz I don't see him being suggested for anything after a rather exceptional Dredd and a more sedate but equally thrilling Vantage Point. Admitedly, I'm not Flash's biggest fan. I find that the character has too much inherent camp which works well in an ensemble but not in a solo film. But I like what Barry Allen brings to the table in terms of his human skills. Travis's use of slow motion and 3D along with the combination of tension, mystery and action makes me believe he could make a kick-ass Flash movie.

Justice League- Ben Affleck(Gone Baby Gone, Argo)

He is only 3 films old but there are indications he'll end his career as one of the best. He has an unique charm to his films and though if has dealt so far with generally non fantasy films even those have a larger than life feel to it. People should be licking their lips imagining what he can do with Justice League. Hopefully better than Martin Campbell.

My post from back in May.

I guess the last one can still happen? In fact, now I believe it's almost certain to happen!

I'm fairly certain WB will stick with Snyder/Goyer to handle production of the films. Affleck may be allowed to give some creative input, but I think he's primarily there to act at this point. The director spot may technically still be up for grabs, but if Snyder keeps producing to a satisfactory level, I don't see why WB would can him for Affleck.

The Trinity is nearly complete...one more casting to go:

THE BATMAN's casting was surprising to say the least. Ben Affleck was not my 1,2,3,4, or even 5 choice to play the Caped Crusader but as I've settled into the idea I couldn't be more than intrigued by what he will bring to the role. He should not be judged solely on his past 'errors' but more so on his present successes. He has grown as an actor and director and at 41 years old he has become a powerful name in Hollywood. I'm not surprised that he was chosen to fill the shoes of the Dark Knight. Smart move on the part of DC in casting him. Who knows, Ben's mature portrayal of the dark and brooding Batman and the spoiled playboy Bruce Wayne may be the best yet. His height of 6' 4" will command a real presence when on screen with his fellow teammates. Good luck to him, I think Ben will do an awesome job. The Batman's costume: For his long awaited introduction into a shared universe, The Batman should be decked out in the 'Batman: Arkham Origins' gear. It reflects his genius intellect, an array of detective gadgety and a highly trained fighter ready to do battle.

WONDER WOMAN is undoubtably the hardest character to cast. There are a number of actresses who can play the Amazon Princess such as Gemma Arterton, Emily Blunt or Olivia Wilde, however none of them capture the essence or embody her character more so than the stunningly beautiful and highly talented Berenice Marlohe ('Skyfall'). She possesses a otherworldly exotic quality that is simply captivating. Watching her in 'Skyfall' I found her to be both alluring and powerful in her performance. I look forward to seeing her in her upcoming roles in the 'Untitled Terrence Malnick Project' and '5 to 7' where she will co-star with many of the industry's leading stars. Her accent only enriches her chances in my book of playing a believable Princess Diana. With a little dialect work, she can be made to sound unique enough to fit Wonder Woman's origins of being Themysciran (however that should sound). At a statuesque 5' 9" tall and ONLY 34 years old, Berenice does not show any sign of aging and not only embodies but is a true Wonder Woman in my vision. Wonder Woman's costume: Swimsuit, boy shorts and battle skirt oh my! Wonder Woman's film debut should have her in the 'Injustice: Gods Among Us' armor. The look of the pants is not only regal and dignified but also incorporates elements of her warrior heritage and her ambassador mission to Man's World.

Henry Cavill and 'Man of Steel' has set the benchmark. Bring on the DC cinematic universe!!!

I'm looking at Ben Foster for Flash now. The dude really deserves to get some more screentime compared to what he's normally getting.

He could pull off Barry or Wally from what I've seen. They don't need to look exactly like the character.

No they donīt need to look exactly as the chars ofc. But looks does matter in some extent. I think most ppl agree that Superman shouldnīt be played by an asian dude because it must in some extent follow the comics. How big the difference can be is individual.

Personally I donīt see him being Flash. I donīt say I am right just that Ben isnīt close enough to be a Barry in my eyes.

So what if the movie-verse and tv-verse were one and the same (like Marvel's).

Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), introduced in MOS (2013)

Barry Allen (Aaron Paul) - debuted in Arrow season 2 (2013) / The Flash (2014)

Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) - introduced in Batman vs Superman (2015)

John 'Stewart' Diggle (David Ramsey) - gets the ring from Hal Jordan in Arrow season 4 (2015)

Diana Prince (Emily Blunt) - introduced in Justice League (2017)

I could kinda see this cast becoming a possibility after Affleck signed on.. It wouldn't be ideal though.

Superman: Cavill
Batman: Affleck
Wonder Woman: Emily Blunt
The Flash: Matt Damon
Green Lantern: Mark Wahlberg

Superman: Cavill
Batman: Affleck
Wonder Woman: Biel or Blunt
Green Lantern: Bradley Cooper / Matt Damon (maybe kidding, maybe good?)
Flash: Aaron Paul

Directed by: Ben Affleck (or, even more ideally, Brad Bird)
