He said virtual unknown though. meaning if you showed his face to any person on the street, more people wouldn't know him than would know him and he's right. Andrew wasn't a big name before he was Spider-Man.

Needless to say either way, that TASM made him way more famous. I think I remember seeing something from Toby Maguire about how famous it would make him. Andrew really has a lot to owe Spiderman, his girlfriend and a lot of his fame lol

no doubt..and his own acting skills though. If he was terrible at the gig then he'd be infamous instead and just another guy dating a pretty face

You know something, I think for MJ they should do a twist on the usual character of MJ. Mainly because I don't really want the same kind of character I saw with Kirsten Dunst's Mary-Jane Watson or another rehash of Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy.

So let's say Peter's roughly 16-17(I think that's Peter's age in the movie yes? Correct me if I'm wrong), what if Mary-Jane in the new movies was roughly 19-20 and a bit further along in life compared to Peter(like halfway through college or something)? You can still preserve the key elements that make Mary-Jane the character we like plus unlike Dunst's Mary-Jane, she should make the first move as what comic book MJ does yes?

Basically what I'm saying is let's make Mary-Jane the slightly older and confident woman/bad girl-type woman in Peter's life who sees something in Peter that she likes and is very forward with him despite the girlfriend in Peter's life. Deep down she's a good person and she does later grow to eventually love him. I think this would be good as Peter(and the audience) is presented with two girls who are polar opposites which could provide some interesting interactions.

So to give an idea of what I envision Mary-Jane to be if I got to cast the character here's a possible direction they could go.

Leighton Meester

@Super Jim: Just because THR reported that the role was likely to be recast doesn't actually mean it will be... not because THR's reporting is wrong, but because lots of things can happen in 2 years. It's fine to talk about who could possibly replace Woodley, but that doesn't mean her being replaced is 100% set-in-stone.

Also, fans tend to have a vastly inflated sense of their own importance when it comes to the success or failure of these types of blockbuster franchise films, and I very much doubt that Webb and Co. will be combing online message boards looking for fancasting threads.

Speaking of Channing Tatum, I can actually picture him as Eddie Brock! I don't think he'd be too bad for that role.

Don't know about that. I've never seen Tatum play a jerk, and that's what Eddie needs to be, at least at the beginning. Maybe not so much a jerk as a what? Bully?

I think he does have the build for the role, as compared to Garfield.

When and if they do get to Venom I really hope it's not something stupid, like Harry Osborn as Venom! It needs to be a big guy who is a reporter who was treated badly by his father. Pretty much, let's do the actual origin story of Brock.

So I'd say Tatum would match the look, but not so sure about the personality...

Heath Ledger had never played a psycho either

And yeah, I agree about the rest.

Woodley looking like she may still be MJ is this rumour is true

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Quote:
Emma Stone’s character dies in the next film and that really would take a bunch out of the film if Spider-Man all the sudden starts dating a new girl so close to an important characters death. They were noticing this occurring as they filmed Shailene’s scenes. They want to make the death of Gwen Stacy really mean something and then it will leave room for Shailene to shine in the third film.

Might not be true

That article does make it seem like Woodley might be back, but we'll see. Let's be honest, MJ's role in TASM2 only needed to be this:

Gwen: "Hey Peter, meet my friend Mary Jane."

Peter: "Hey Mary Jane, nice to meet you."

MJ: "Call me MJ"

In other words, MJ's character should have been nothing more than secondary to Gwen at this point and that would not have taken anything away from anything. Still seems like there is more to this whole change...

Oh, in reading that story, the main quote I took away from it was:
There is no jealousy, this is definitely a creative decision and Emma was also told that she would have her character get the proper send off and probably would appear in flashbacks and nightmares in the third film. When you are a huge star like Emma you get things thrown to you even if you donít ask or demand them.
"Appear in flashbacks and nightmares in the third film."

Hmmmmmmmmmmm...

Wouldn't that mean that:

Gwen will die in the second film?

How can you be back in flashback and nightmares in #3 if you didn't die yet? Ok, maybe she could die at the beginning of 3 and then be in nightmares later in 3, but come on... I think this "insider" just substantiated what I've been arguing. Gwen is going to die at the end of #2.

Just imagine #2 ending with Peter cradling Gwen's lifeless body, tears streaming down his checks, screaming for revenge.

Then imagine #3 starting with the same scene, with Gwen plummeting to her death and Peter waking up from this obviously reocurring nightmare.

This makes a lot of sense. #3 will be about Peter trying to figure out who the Goblin is and dealing with other threats, likely caused by GG. I could easily see GG hiring the Black Cat to steal something of importance. The whole daddy thing would start to resolve. And GG could form a group of Spidey villains to unite against him.

This leads to #4 where the S6 battles spidey.

But the main thing is that the above quote sure seems to support Gwen being killed. Especially when coupled with the other evidence...

The actress doesn't even need to be a natural red head

I think I came up with a perfect choice...

I was watching Pitch Perfect over the weekend and one of the characters was this absolutely gorgeous girl. She was exceptionally tall, curvy, busty, and well, just plain hot.

In Pitch Perfect her character's name was Stacy.

The actresses name is:

Alexis Knapp

There is even a couple of great shots of her from openings from Project X where she is sporting reddish hair.

I haven't seen Project X yet, but what I saw of her in Pitch Perfect sold me that she would be a perfect MJ. And as a bonus, you should see her flexibility. Her splits and dance moves defy logic!

Any chance someone could grab the shot of her with reddish hair from the Project X opening and post it?
