Leeds General Infirmary is currently in the news, for entirely bad reasons. It is a remarkable building, however, which I think would be a great location for Arkham Asylum:
![]() ![]() I am really interested to see people's suggestions for other landmarks in Gotham City.

![]() ![]() Alcatraz as Blackgate Prison. Of course it's too well known in the US. But with a little CGI it could work. |

Something went wrong with my post above. But nevermind. That's Alton Towers in Staffordshire, UK. That building plus some CGI could make some decent Arkham Asylum.
Plus: This old castle lies within a theme park of the same name (http://www.altontowers.com). So if the film crew needs some Joker scenes in an old theme park/carnival - they could also do it right there. And - this place is not far away from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gotham,_England.jpg ![]() Last edited by BatmanGoesToRio; 03-30-2013 at 04:53 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I think Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral would be a great setting for a B89 style showdown. I could imagine The Scarecrow living in the rafters.

I don't know what thread to put this in, but for the reboot's visual style, I'm thinking of something like this:
While Nolan talked about Blade Runner being an influence on BBegins, it was more so the feel and detail. For the reboot, I think they should emulate the actual colour palette: ![]() or something like so: (Shanghai) ![]() ![]() ![]() Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
I think something like this would retain the sleekness and modern feel of TDKT while distinctly breaking away from it with a different colour palette; one that matches this potentially shared universe. One might say that what I'm describing here is merely the Arkham videogames; but for some reason I never liked the style of those games other than the trailers. I think it might have something to do with the ugly lighting in the actual gameplay and the overall art direction, not the style/colour palette. Interesting post. It would certainly fit with "downtown" Gotham. I think the gaudy, neon glamour would contrast nicely with the gloom and grit of the more deprived parts of the city.
