Sooo...several months ago someone brought up Jamie Dornan in the old thread, and at the time, I dismissed him as more of a Hal Jordan type because I didn't think he had the darkness and/or gravitas needed for Batman. Well after seeing his impressive and rather disturbing performance as a serial killer/family man in BBC's The Fall, I'd like to retract that sentiment because now, I can totally see it. This is what he looks like btw:

Now don't get me wrong, I'd still prefer they went with an older, established Batman this time around. But if they're looking for someone closer to Cavill's age, I'm now quite confident he could pull it off. This is me eating crow. I was completely wrong about him before.

I've been warming up to Matthew Goode, Jack Huston, and Matt Bomer lately.

My top choices would still be Fassbender, Gosling or Manganiello

My 3 choices for Bruce Wayne and Batman are based on their acting talent, athletic/ fighting ability, and age so that the actor can continue the role for many more films.

Philip Winchester (from Crusoe, Camelot, Strike Back)
Age: 32
Height: 6'1

Liam McIntyre (from Spartacus)
Age: 31
Height: 6'2

Tyler Hoechlin (from Teen Wolf)
Age: 25
Height: 6'0

Batman 2.0? Oh, I get it. Bale was the very first live action Batman after all.

Handsome, haunted, intelligent, intense, composed, tough as hell. Jim Caviezel. He evokes Bruce Wayne more than any other existing actor for me.

I think what I love the most is that he has those classical style eyes and eyebrows that we see in Batman: The Animated Series and Year One. He can pull off the more emotive, troubled, beaten expressions Bale often did in the Nolan films. He nails the very hardened, analytical stare expected of any interpretation of Bruce. He is also capable of putting off that 'ages of battle' vibe of The Dark Knight Returns.

Basically, he's a ball of all the best stuff.

This is if we're going for a decently experienced Batman, which I would prefer for this match up.

My second place is currently Karl Urban, but I'd -really- have trouble letting the idea of Jim as Bruce go. haha

If they're looking for anolder Batman I think Jim actually would make a good Bruce/Batman. Only thing he'd need to do is bulk up a little.

Caviezel would be great. I'd really have 0 problem with him.

Problem is, he'll be filming Person of Interest. Scheduling wise I think it's a no-go.

He might have even been a first choice for me, but taking the reality of the situation into account I'm still Team Brolin.

Caviezel is not a very good actor , that's my only problem with it. He's just decent.

The list is all sort of horrendous. Outside of Gosling , not a single good actor.

I know Cavill might have set the bar a little too low on acting abilities but....i hope they aim a little higher.

Anyone who voted for Anson Mount needs to lose their right to have an opinion!!

Caviezel to me, is a solid actor but nothing special. A bit one-note. Decent sounds about right.

Josh Brolin is a very good actor, you just have to watch the right projects where he's not just phoning it in. If they want Bruce in their mid 40s, he's the guy.

Gosling is the best actor out of all the options. There's no competition.

Of all the actors rumored shortlisted for the role, I'll go for Richard Armitage. But it would be nice if Jim Caviezel could get it.

Brolin is a good actor no doubt. But he's not on the list. That's why i said that.

I would save Fassbender to play Mr. Freeze. As for Batman... I would want an actor who fits the "not someone you immediately recognize trying to play that role" label. The main question is, at what point in the career do you want to start the series? Another origin story? Year One? Is he still a young rough around the edges Batman who is attending Hayley's circus?

Year One and early career is more difficult for me, but I know definitely for an Arkham City/Legends of the Dark Knight portrayal, I want either Ray Stevenson, Jon Hamm, or I'd even like to give Channing Tatum and a late 4th Ryan Gosling a chance just for God sake use a different voice or monotone for once!

The first fancast that has made me actually go "whoa..." Genuinely great, and original choice.
