I don't know, I'd say that this is enough to say that they're still going to pursue it. We know that they're going to keep feeding us bits of what happened to Peter's parents for sure in sequels.
if anything they should only bring back the burglar maybe when peter is at his lowest... (either after gwen's death or black suit) and he takes his anger out on the burglar... but peter stops before he nearly kills him, and it marks a turning point in getting him back on track.

anything more is un-needed and pointless imo

What do you think Spider-Man does to piss Max off?

I think Max in this film will be portrayed as a bit unwell, mentally. As we've seen from pictures of his room as well as his self made E-Card with Spider-Man on it, he is a big fan of Spider-Man. To the point of obsession.

And I think that after Spidey bumps into him and tells him "your my guy", he takes that seriously and feels that Spider-Man is his friend (probably his only). So when Spidey later "blows him off" (I think Spidey will stop Max during his first outburst in Times Square and, inadvertantly, gets him sent to Oscorp for experimentation), it makes Max snap and turn against him and pretty much everyone else.

The best comparison (though the execution will probably be much different) is Edward Nygma in Batman Forever. He was obsessed with Bruce Wayne and when Bruce rebuffed his efforts to be "partners" as well as his proposal for his "brain wave manipulating" tv box, he made it his mission to destroy Bruce. A complete 180 from his previous stance.

The "Mandarin" (Damm you Marvel Studios) in IM3 was like that too, though again the execution is debatable. I've said this alot before but he reminds me of MTV Electro.

Killain was a big fan of tony stark and felt betrayed by him. Electro in the MTV show was blue and had these burns. He was also down on his luck just like this Electro.

for the lack of a better term... I think we should all still call Killian "Killian" and not start calling him "Mandarin" just because of the ending of the film......

He is the Mandarin though, it been officially confirmed Killian is the MCUS version of the Mandarin.

Yes... but when someone says "Killian" they think "Killian" when most people here the phrase "kinda like mandarin" or any referral to "Mandarin" they're probably going to think KINGSLEY and that controversy. Not immediately assume you're talking about killian.

I still think that whole Mandarin is Killian thing is a rouse. There was no way they were gonna introduce a villain that powerful with magic, when sorcery hasn't been introduced in that universe yet. Plus, he seems like a villain that's too big for iron man to handle in a solo outing.

what does magic have to do with the Mandarin? His rings aren't magical

I know. Well..what can we discuss eh? Haha

I'm still waiting on a good shot of the new shooters. I wonder if there's gonna be a good shot of them in the movie. They didn't really have any good close-up shots in TASM. I guess Marc still wants to make it a "neutral" thing. Where they don't really showcase too much of it, but it's there.

I was wondering was it ever explained how Spidey could shoot different kind of webbing in Raimi's trilogy? Like nets and web-bullets? Did he control it with his mind or smth?

And AFAIK Webb's Spider-man used only one type of webbing. My guess is those new gnarly webshooters in TASM2 are triangle shaped for a reason. :P

Oh they better be. I liked how in Raimi's, he could shoot like web-balls. And no I don't think they were explained.

Maybe they'll have that in this film. Or even more cool web-like things.

Electro in MTV Spider-Man wasn't just a blue guy. He was living electricity; without an actual physical form.

Outside of them both being blue, the comparison really stops there, look wise.

I wonder if they'll still light up and puff out smoke and stuff when he fires a web, I thought that was cool in TASM even though it wasn't really necessary.

I think they will though because the new shooters just look like a cover that goes over the old ones.

I just watched The Party from Spider-Man: The New Animated Series a few nights ago, I kinda like how they did the character of Max despite the whole college setting involved with it.

I think there was smoke because it was at night + the power of the emission. It was a realistic thing to do. Looked really cool imo. Hopefully yeah it still does that. Speaking of webs, hopefully he uses it more, and more in more clever ways. Shooting webs is one of the best parts of Spidey's combat.

I have a feeling that his new suit and new shooters won't be explained. Idk

Not really because if you look closely, the new webshooters have 2 LEDs rather than one large led like the old ones did.

I can't tell if those are LEDs. Need to see a high-res shot of the new shooters.

We'll probably get an official pic of them along with everything else.

So I rewatched TASM today. I thought it was okay the first time but I just thought it was really good the second time. Now I can't wait for the sequel and I hope it's a fun ride to May 2, 2014.

I liked the Web shooters from the first TASM, perhaps he changes them as they can hold more web cartages...
