Geez I hope future fans don't ever develop the attitude that lifting school buses is too far fetched and that his greatest feats should consist of breaking small metal objects. As it is, it seems like with each successive generation of comic book fans that the standard of what super strength is decreases. Byrne-level powers were acceptable 10-20 years ago and that was considered to be "depowered", now it seems like people consider even the Byrne Superman overpowered(lifting ocean liners and large land masses) due to the current preference for realism.

I get what your saying. It's sometimes hard to find that happy medium that makes everyone happy.

I was extremely happy with what we got. I saw enough that, taking into consideration conventional (and conventional use of nuclear) weaponry, Superman could utterly dominate us if he was so inclined.
