So like a retread of Elektra King then.

Marceau is exactly the type of physicality I am talking about. I couldn't buy her knocking around Brosnan, much less Craig. I would want someone for this whom I could buy shoving a full grown mans face in a loo and drowning him without any help from the hired muscle. Then she goes to the bathroom sink, washes her hands, fixes her makeup and goes on with her day.

Again, this is all just fun spitballing here.

I think there actually were, if not exactly light, some echoes of a less stone faced Bond in SKYFALL, especially when he was with Eve. I wouldn't want any aping of Roger Moore, but perhaps a few more humorous moments, or at least a scene here or there where Bond is a little less wound up. That being said, perhaps the tone of Craig's Bond just isn't conducive to that kind of stuff. It's interesting that despite the success of SKYFALL that Craig wants to do material with some more humor in it.

Yeah I agree with that. Bond leaping on to the tube near the guy who said "that guy must really want to get home" is a wonderful example of being less grim faced without being silly

I already thought there was a lot of of humour in Skyfall. His first meeting with Q, "Just changing carriages," "Well you're bloody well not sleeping here," "He's keen to get home" etc. When I saw it in the cinema (three times) plenty of people were laughing

I also think there was a genuine warmth and light touch to all of the Bond/Eve scenes in SKYFALL. I loved his little smirk when he was walking away from her after he sees her again in the MI-6 bunker. I am really looking forward to at least 2 more movies with Craig, if only so I can see more of him and this new Ms. Moneypenny.

I am of the mind they slept together before Bond heads off to the "island casino". Or am I alone in thinking that?

As far as I'm concerned, they didn't sleep together. It'd be the only 007 movie where they don't explicitly hint 2 characters have bumped uglies.

I think it is deliberately left a bit ambiguous. It makes their relationship "did they/do they?" rather than "will they/won't they?", which is a pleasing shift.

I thought the humour in Skyfall - with exceptions - was really slow, stilted, overlong and forced. And Craig was a muscular plank of wood who couldn't pull it off.

And this is coming from someone who considers Casino Royale his favourite Bond movie and because of that considered Craig his favourite Bond (though I'd always admit Connery was the Bond).

If they can return to the what made Casino great, then I'll be darn happy.

This is similar to my take. The flirty talk they engage in at the casino is suggestive, but since we aren't shown on screen what happens after the shaving scene with the straight razor it leaves open the possibilities.

2.You don't know how I look!

3.Thou shalt not use NSNA as a proper Bond film reference.

It's so crazy that a film starring Connery, of all people, as Bond gets the cold shoulder from so many just because of the production company's pedigree. Not that it's any great shakes as a film. They're ripping off freakin' ThunderBall after all.

Good. Christian Bale needs the rest...

I do think it was weird that in Skyfall they kind of joked that he didn't get any gadgets. I thought this Bond didn't ever get any "exploding pens", and just got into things a few movies ago by killing that guy in the bathroom.

Personally, I think they could go more in that direction, but, you know, in moderation. Not that they aren't already slowly going there.

There was also quite a bit of subtle humor in Casino Royale, all of the Bond/Vesper scenes (except the last one of course) were quite fun to watch. Also, Bond and Camille never slept together in QOS. Elektra worked as a villain precisely because her skill at manipulating men made her particularly dangerous to Bond specifically.
