Ahhh so using an emoticon excuses the comment!

You said, you didn't see the sarcasm in the comment. I was just pointing out that whenever the emoticon is used it represents sarcasm.

Well thank you. I appreciate the thought. In my opinion simply tagging a sarcastic smiley face to the end of a comment doesn't exactly excuse it.
Which is why I asked why Luke Evans sexuality would make a difference and instead it got turned around to me being incapable of reading sarcasm.

"Jamie Lannister" looks the part!

A poll on a site called showbiz411.com had these guys listed: Gerard Butler, Jon Hamm, Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Benjamin Walker, and Anthony Mackie.

Gerard Butler was an easy winner with 33%!

Why hasn't he been in the running?

Then I'm boycotting the movie. This is the first time I'm saying it and I'm serious. If we get little to no Bruce in B/S I'm out. I almost tuned off JL/JLU because of the lack of other identities.

Also, the insistence on Urban is starting to get on my nerves.

Keaton was cast by Burton based on the eyes. It was about his crazy, intense eyes and how he could see him being crazy enough to put on a batsuit at night.

Bale was cast by Nolan based on his obsessive nature and intensity. His eyes and dedication. How obsessed he was with roles in losing weight or dropping it or pulling off an accent. The discipline. That sold Nolan.

Let's look at these actors. Wes Bentley comes to mind, and im not trying to be insensitive but he had an addiction to heroin and being an alcoholic. Goyer has said the suit of batman is like an addiction to Bruce Wayne. This obsessive addiction. I can see how they might look to Bentley and see the obsessiveness and of course his career is back on track so obviously he has an intense passion for that and wants to keep that going. Now he's cast in Nolan's new movie so that may be a gateway.
Completely agree on Bentley- someone suggested him a few days ago, and it clicked for me. He has a ridiculous intensity, and I can imagine that having so much life experience could be an asset in playing a character as dark and complex as Bruce Wayne. Bentley is a real contender, for me.

My top 3 choices are Kasinsky, Gosling and Gylenhall.

I love Karl Urban but he's not right for Batman IMO.

Don't even get me started on why Sam Witwer's not good enough.

I think Sam Witwer would be a good choice.

You kinda answered your own question.

For the record, I don't want Gosling.

I don't know why people keep suggesting Karl Urban for Batman, his looks do not suit the part, at all.

I cannot see him either as Bruce Wayne or as Batman.

Nolan's choices will be -

Wes Bentley (as he is in Nolan's Interstellar), Jake Gyllenhaal (As he missed out to Bale in BB)

Snyder can select someone like Luke Evans (He was in WB's Hobbit), Taylor Hoechlin (he has the looks, height and right age.)

WB would also get Armie Hammer and Matt Bomer in that list.

All of the above candidates have potential.

I really don't want Hammer to get the job. Outside of him being a little too tall, he just doesn't seem likable to me.

Anyone who is at 6'3" or above that should not be considered, like Armie Hammer, Benjamin Walker and Joe Manganiello. (IMO.)

A very tall Batman would not look good next to Superman. And using camera tricks, camera angles and CGI in ordinary shots such as Two of them walking together to hide the height differences is a waste of money and resources when they can easily find an actor who is not that tall.

Ben Walker is a spitting image of a younger Liam Neeson. Maybe with some Eric Bana thrown in.

I agree with this. I think 5'11"-6'3" is probably the acceptable range.
