If he or someone else gets picked, I just hope we can get something new and exciting about the character which differentiates itself from past incarnations.

I really want them to make the reboot batman a genius so he can go toe to toe with Lex Luthor as Bruce Wayne and show his tactician/detective mind in the suit.
Kind of like Iron Man and Thor in Avengers? I loved that fight scene.

I, for one, am very excited to see what they come up with for these two.

Kind of. Though I'd like Batman to be more like Thor, and Superman to be more like Cap. Or soemthing like that

Thor was clearly winning that fight (he was holding back and IM needed a massive power boost just to keep up). Thor wasn't even using his hammer to its full potential and was taking Tony's armor apart peice by piece with his bare hands. If Cap hadn't intervened, IM would have eventually been pounded into submission. I'd like a Superman/Batman confrontation to be more even than that.

I do have a feeling Snyder will portray Superman getting his ass whooped by Batman at least once. Plus, I do really hope Snyder and Goyer utilize more of the detective and tactician elements to him, and not just make him a brutal crime fighter.

I'm not terribly familiar with the site, but I do recall at least one of their "exclusive" stories being proven correct. It wasn't anything major though -- just that Watchmen actress Apolonia Nadova would be playing a Kryptonian in MOS.

Batman won't kick Superman's ass, but he may use his intelligence and planning skills to get the advantage initially.

So who is the most reliable for casting info for these movies? I'm still pulling for Jensen Ackles, though I know he's a long shot. I like Tyler Hoechlin, but he's not really a stellar actor. He tries awfully hard, which is why I cut him some slack. But I can't see him as Batman/Bruce.

My choice for Batman:

Richard Madden aka Robb Stark from Game of Throne.

Pros:

-He's a gifted actor. Robb Stark in the book is not a very compelling character, but Richard made him a fan favorite. He has the chops for Batman. He can do dark and brooding(Batman) and charming(Bruce Wayne)

-He's the right age. Seriously, his age is perfect.

-He's known for his GoT fame, but he's still relatively unknown to the general audience. That's great, because too big of a name can be distracting for an iconic character. Unknown is good.

Cons:

-I have no idea if he can do an American accent, which is crucial. I hope he can. He changed his accent up for Game of Thrones, so hopefully he'd have it in him.

-He's very boyish ooking, but that could be fixed. He just needs to work out and get in shape. He could definitely look like Batman.

He's got my vote. Besides how cool would it be if this guy got to play The King in The North and The Dark Knight?

Hoechlin was good in Road to Perdition, but that was a long time ago. Haven't seen him in anything since other than Hall Pass, and that was just a bit part. I refuse to watch anything on MTV, so I haven't seen Teen Wolf.

I rather they pick someone who's a bit older than Cavil. Hell, I wouldn't mind a guy in his late 30's, early 40's.

I'd still go for Karl Urban.lol The dude looks like he could play an older Batman with ease.

Plus with John Hamm, I actually see him as someone that could play Jay Garrick, aka the original flash.

Hamm could also play Lex (evil genius Don Draper ftw). Maybe Alcide from True Blood (Joe really long last name that starts wit an M).

Jon Hamm is still my ideal Superman.

Karl Urban for Batman though. It's a shame it would probably end any hope of seeing a Dredd sequel though.

Goku Goes Crazy makes a good case for Richard Madden. I don't mind him on GoT. But yeah, American accent and mature look are crucial.

He looks mature on GOT. Don't know if he can pull off an American accent though.

What worries me about the sequel is that Batman will become the main star in the movie. Before Zack was named the director for Man of Steel, he came out at comic con one year stating he would like to do the Frank Miller "The Dark Knight Returns" live action movie.

Then during his presser last week he picks a quote from that exact story, stating that is where the inspiration comes from.

Is Snyder more of a Batman fan at heart?
