No, I did not see Avengers Assemble, but I saw a JL cartoon with Amazo, and I understand they are virtually identical in most ways.

The one with Amazo was pretty bad. the power levels of the JL are so uneven its crazy.

Yeah thatīs an interesting question. Does anyone know how alike Amazo and the Superadaptoid are In the comics?

There is one JL verison of Amazo in the cartoon series where it starts with him escaping and a fight between him and hawkgirl takes place. That Amazo, let me tell you, becomes ridiculously strong. Itīs not even fun when he returns in JL unlimited and kick their buts.

Then we have another amazo dude in a JL movie. That one is more balanced.
Or it didnīt have as much time to evolve. Still more balanced I think.

Did you mean uneven in their powers in comparison to amazo or between themselves?

Anyway, "Superadaptoid" turns out to be so strong that they canīt take him down. Captain America who fights with spirit and put a lot of time in studying his team as the leader he is, knows everyones weaknesses. So the same weaknesses applies for the adaptoid, and he uses them to beat him. Also Cap can come up with new fightingstyles as he goes to surprise this adaptoid.

Huh. I meant amongst themselves. It started with Amazo copying Hawkgirl, but it's apparently stronger than she is, and she gets help from Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, but it copies their powers too. GL Calls Batman, who is hanging out with Supes in the Batmobile. He tells them NOT to come. But Superman shows up anyway and Amazo copies him too. I thought Superman could just get behind it and throw it into space but he chooses to smash it into buildings instead, whatever works guys. And then Batman arrives on the scene and flashes some Kryptonite which saves the day, because Amazo copied Supermans weakness.

Yeah, sounds similar.

I hope Ultron does the same sort of thing, but with less silly weaknesses. Ultron isn't above utilizing someone elses strategies or capabilities, but he's smart enough to know they have weaknesses, and evolve beyond those weaknesses. Makes him a lot scarier IMO.

The Iron Man 3 Midas suit (featured as a Hot Toys figure) looks like it could easily be the basis of a classic Ultron:

He would just need a few modifications such as the jack o'lantern eyes, butterfly mouth and the antennae where IM's ear discs would be.

I prefer Ultrons design to be a complete departure from an Iron Man suit. He needs to have a unique look completely. He's worthy of some effort put forth by the design team and Stark for that matter.

I think he will look more like a combination of an Iron Man suit and the Destroyer, with Ant Man's head.

Exactly! There will be some natural similarities (iron suit and robot), but Ultron needs his own identity. The general audience shouldn't see him as some Iron Man extra.

I hope there's no real time hardware adaption to the Avengers - I'd prefer him to physically adapt by rebuilding and re-analyzing their abilities. When he's in the field, he had to make do with what he brought.

Obviously I'm not talking about tactics and fighting styles, but even that he can reprogram how to adapt quicker/better, when off the front line (rebuilding after being.... broken )

I'd say he's more like a robotized intelligent Doomsday.

If Ultron does end up evolving from JARVIS I hope to God they change his voice. JARVIS is not menacing in the least!

Also, I really hope Ultron has the "butterfly" mouth. If he/she/it's not at least recognizable than what's the point. Comic book movies are notorius for adaptations in name only. Hopefully Marvel will understand that adjustments for realism and/or the general public do not = complete reimaginings.

Not really, the MCU has been pretty faithful to the comics. I don't want a direct translation to screen, I can just read the comic. Mark Hamill or John Noble would have menacing Ultron voices.

There is a scene in Iron Man 2 when Tony is drunk and hosting a party at his house. Itīs with the suit that Rhodey takes from Stark. I can really see a potential Ultron face in it.
Itīs just after their rays have met and Stark "wakes up". Then when you get to see Rhodey turn around his head and fly away, thatīs when you can see it.

why wouldn't he be the same? Ultron doesn't have crippling self-esteem issues. how does the dynamic change? how did Pym's "crippling self-esteem" change the way he reacted to Ultron? they did consistently try to destroy one another, right? i imagine that Ultron will see Tony much the same way Tony saw Howard (w/ a dash of evil).

Tony Stark: He was cold, calculating, never told me he loved me, didn't even tell me that he liked me, so it's a bit hard for me to digest that he said the whole future is riding on me thing, you're talking about a man who's happiest day of his life was shipping me off to boarding school.

They'd have to completely remove the arc reactor and redesign the head as a start.

To Starks credit he should be able to come up with a completely new design. He's not a one trick pony and therefor Ultron should look unique and not derivative of his Iron Man suit in any way.

I found it annoying that Superman was able to hold his own against an Amazo that had the powers of all the empowered members, including his own. The only reason we didn't get a repeat for round 2 was because Amazo smartened up and took out Supes right from the start with Bats' kryptonite.

I think Jude Law could have a menacing voice if he chose to. It's all in the delivery.

Edit: Sorry, Paul Bettany.

Classic AI's often end up sounding menacing by speaking with almost no emotion (as if your impending termination is the most rational thing in the world). Think HAL-9000, or (to a lesser, and more humorous extent) GLaDOS from Portal. If they do turn JARVIS into Ultron, I think his voice would sound extremely creepy as he politely says something like, "I'm sorry, sir, but I'm afraid you must die now." (Granted, I haven't read many Ultron comics yet, so this may be out of character for him).

I get the creepiness of mellow voices like HAL, but I always got the impression that Ultron is more of a raving lunatic. I might be way off base, but that's the impression I got from the comics. I hear him screaming like a mad man, especially the more and more he replicates himself.

I hope they make his voice as instable as he is. It could differ a lot depending on his state.

sounds about right. an emotional/bipolar robot might be even more startling to audiences; being so unfamiliar.
