I'd rather have Armie as Aquaman

The fact that Jake Gyllenhaal was David Goyer's pick for Batman, and Joe Manganiello was the runner up for Superman, but was passed over because Henry brought more innocence to the role, makes me think that those two will be considered. I'd be more than happy with either of them

I have decided to just support whoever WB chooses .
I cannot really judge a casting two years out .
Hey, Mr Mom made a pretty decent Batman.
It is my hope that whoever they select has good chemistry with Cavill.

just out of curiosity, how often do these candidates fans suggest actually get casted in these superhero movies?

With Snyder and Co. having picked 30-year-old Cavill to play a 33-year-old Clark Kent, the pool of actors who could potentially be in the running to play Bruce Wayne has increased somewhat, although I still don't think they'll cast anyone who's over the age of 40 in the role.

My picks would still be Gael Garcia Bernal, Sam Witwer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Selwyn Ward, Ryan Gosling, Milo Ventimiglia, and Robbie Jones III, though.

I worded myself incorrectly.

What I meant to say is how often are our fan suggestions for actors accurate to what the studio and director actually/eventually end up going with?

Henry Cavil was a strong choice from fans and he got the role right? What other examples are there?

Joe was actually passed over due to scheduling conflicts with True Blood, but I do believe he wouldn't have gotten the role, regardless.

Apparently they start shooting this thing early in the year so I just don't think Manganiello will leave True Blood for this. Maybe he would want to, but I just get the feeling that it could be too late. Im sure by the time Bats is cast, they will have signed contracts and mapped out the next season. I mean, im not sure how that show works but it's how I see it.

Manganiello will also be close to 39 when this movie is released. Which puts him at around 40-41 for JL and well into his early 40s when they decide to do the FIRST solo film for Batman. It doesn't seem realistic. If you're gonna go for 40 something year old Batman once JL and the solo films are kicking off, they should be getting bigger name actors who have more talent. Like Jon Hamm, Josh Brolin, Jim Caviezel, even Fassbender is the same age as Manganiello. That's the level you go for because you can make exceptions when you have massive talent who are veterans in the game.

Even Bomer is gonna be in his early 40s when the first solo movie drops. I think they'll get an actor who is 34-35 the latest for this movie. The latest.

So by that age range, late 20s to 34ish. Anyone from Gyllenhaal to Gosling, Evans, Bentley, McIntyre would be considered.

Robert Downey Jr/Tony Stark's physicality isn't as important because it doesn't take someone physically gifted to be Iron Man.

Again, Bryan Cranston's character Walter White isn't based on a super hero vigilante.

Keaton did well back then because it was new and fresh, and the hype was unbelievable for that movie, but today I don't think it would work. If you want another George Clooney type Batman then fine, a good actor but doesn't have any screen presence in the suit. I don't want Batman backtracking to those days. So, physical attributes are kinda important now.

I can bet that the actor who gets cast as Batman would gather a collective reaction like "Holy CRAP, I never thought of him. He's perfect!".

And a lot of "Noooo! The movie will suck now. How could Snyder do this! "

So Tyler Hoechlin is the rumored frontrunner to play Batman. Not seen his work before, is he any good?

He's Tom Hanks son in Road to Perdition. That makes me feel really old

Actually... (from an interview with Snyder)
