Jean was basically "Carrie" in X3. The outfit was red to represent the pig's blood.

Questions that don't really need answering when placed against the bigger picture that is the movies.

Same situation with any of the characters in any of these films (including DOFP) suddenly popping up with a new costume.

That's like asking how Tobey's Peter Parker came up with that elaborate a costume in the first Spidey film when he was struggling to string together $2500 (???) for a car to impress MJ.

Who really cares? If the filmmaker wants the character to be in a costume they'll figure out a way. Post-apocalyptic future or not.

They are armor up when they are in battlefield or they wear it since its a sign that they are official members of the team but since there's no X-Men in this movie, we could scratch that one.

If you think Rogue and Shadowcat won't join the action/fight Sentinels and they would just be guarding Wolverine's body or help Wolverine with something else, then sure, it makes why Shadowcat is wearing casual clothes and Rogue is still in prison clothes. But visually, like I said in my 1st post before I started arguing with you, its really much better, if we see Rogue and Shadowcat have a costume similar to Storm, Prof X, Magneto, etc. even if they aren't in the battle field. They don't have to make much sense, people could just see it "the rest are wearing armor black suits, and Rogue/Shadowcat just went along with the group".
She probably doesn't get a black suit. Honestly, does it matter?

I really like sunspot and warpaths costumes! Im curious if the sun will generate sunspot cause it looked awfully cloudy and stormy in the scenes where the new mutants might be.

If I recall correctly, Penn or Kinberg were asked about Jean's red dress in an online chat and suggested Magneto might have given Jean one of Wanda's outfits (ie his daughter Scarlet Witch). It works as an idea.

She also could have pulled it out of her @ss. Who gives a flip? Anyone that's trying to explain away these things, like where these costumes are coming from--if it isn't directly communicated in the film (it's a prison uniform, it's to help with the G-Force, it's to protect from bullets), is splitting the split halves of hairs that have already been split ten times over.

We didn't see see the cordwainer making those fabulous knee-highs that Rogue wore in X2--it doesn't matter to the story.

Visually, it matters to me. They would look more cohesive and probably better.

Going back to Storms hair - I really wish the would give her a more kinky, natural look to shake it up a bit instead the boring flat, straight hair.

Something like this would look STUNNING, especially with her white hair.

Looks good, reminds me of Storm's hair in the 90's animated series.

And also of Halle's hair back in 2004.

Her hair in the animated series was so hilariously bad. She looked like a member of Guns & Roses. lol

Yeah her hair was pretty bad. Still I did appreciate the art style of the 90s series resembling the comics of the time.

I dunno, that's a pretty sizeable difference.

What color is the DOFP suit? Do we know? I've seen it look brown, orange, people talk about it having blue...

if you search for a small Wolverine pic leak, it was pretty obvious it was dark yellow and blue.

So this is just a small evolution from it. Still looks dark and cohesive, with many black pieces

It's blue and yellow under black armor, I believe.

EDIT: Yeah, just do as Angamb suggested, as I'm pretty sure we can't post those pictures.

That has been said but no confirmation will 80s costumes be more like FC or x1 or somewhere in the middle?
