But yes, I really hate the excuse, "BECAUSE HE'S BATMAN!" What appeals to me about Batman is that he has no powers, so he has to rely on skill and technology to make a good fight and survive. It seems like the writers and fans want to make him invincible so that he can beat just about anybody.

I love the Batman parodies on How It Should Have Ended.

Superman: "Because you're Batman?"
Batman: "BECAUSE I'M BATMAN!"

I've always thought Batman getting a clear non Kryptonite physical win over Superman would diminish both characters

It's obvious it would diminish Superman, but why do you think it would dimish Batman? Just curious.

What? Zod using Kryptonite?

What would have really saved the day is if someone threw a chunk of Kryptonite in between Zod and Supes during the final battle.

Fights are at the mercy of the writer in an attempt to prolong the drama.

Wolverine has held his own against The Hulk.
Daredevil has held his own against Spider-Man.
Spider-Man has beaten The Juggernaught.
Spider-Mas has beaten Firelord (a Harald of Galactus).

What's cheesy about it? Kryptonite makes more sense than red sun radiation depowering him.

There are relatively smaller gaps in power between them. Batman vs. Superman is more akin to Daredevil vs. the Hulk.

How does Kryptonite make any sense at all? Why would a radioactive piece of his home planet make him drop to his knees, or writhe in agony? At least with the red sun, the explanation is that you cut him off from his powers source, which is our yellow sun. And the reason it de-powers him, could be because the red sun radiation purges the yellow sun radiation from his cells.

But the red sun is not an issue anymore in MOS. And hopefully, neither will be Kryptonite. His body rejecting his home planet's atmosphere is a lot smarter, because his body never got the chance to adapt to Krypton's ecology.

In a real fist-i-cuff fight between bats and supes, it'll be over before batman can blink his eye. Remember, superman can move at super-sonic speed, that means, zipping around batman several times before batman can blink...

Keeping it real...

But damn Superhero writers have zero logic...

Batman doesn't fight until he's ready, thats the point. He gets prepared then kick ass.

You mean in a fair fight it would be over in a blink of an eye like in a boxing match or UFC fight. In that context your right no chance at all, but in a dirty fight Bats is gonna win. Superman has more weakness than kryptonite that can be exploited to somebody's advantage. Faora in the MOS was knocked out by a missile. some kind of sonic weapon to attack his hearing, and of course good ole magic.

Right, but then you'll have to dumb down superman.. which I hate as well.. it's always, bat wins because he's outsmarting supes... Why must supe be the dumbest of the super-heroes????

Also, in the cartoons, Batman actually 'physically' fights superman, hand to hand... and that's just wrong...

In almost every fight in the Cartoons, Bat fights supe physically.. at least some of the time.. and to me, that's game over...

Yet, he survives... 'dumb writers'...

I don't think fans liked that very much. That's why they coined the term SM Vs FL whenever fights like that occur.

Did they coin that term? Coining term implies that people use it a lot, and I've never seen that.

Anyway, seriously, the answer is not to have it be a physical fight. Batman's greatest asset is not and has never been his strength. It's his intellect. Batman is first and foremost a warrior of the mind. That's why I hate it when writers over-emphasize the martial arts angle.

If it has to be Batman VS. Superman, don't have them come to blows. Have Batman mess with Superman's head, create situations where Superman is forced to act in ways that give Batman an advantage.

I mean that's how Lex Luthor, Superman's greatest and deadliest enemy, manages to hold his own.

Perhaps "coining" wasn't the right word but I've seen it used a lot in comic book forums. Obviously it's only used among comic book fans.

Batman should still have absolutely zero chance in winning against Superman in a physical fight
Who can prepare to fight someone as fast as the Flash and as Strong and invulnerable as Captain Marvel?

you know the difference right?

batman knows how to fight

superman doesn't

this is superman

this is batman

not saying he'd win but people forget bruce is a trained fighter while superman has the fight experience of a 10 year old and didn't have his first fight till he was 33

What does it matter how well Batman can fight, when Superman could rush into him with sonic speed?

a) Kryptonite/Krypton atmosphere.
b) Red Sun - Not applicable in MoS
c) Magic - Not applicable in Mos

Batman needs to deduce and exploit 'a' if there is to be any hope of a confrontation and Superman has to seriously hold back pretty much like Spider-Man has to when he punches an ordinary criminal.

Exactly... Oh god.. why so many people who don't understand that what it means to be able to move faster than the speed of sound???? You can't even see Superman coming...

Doesn't matter if you're the greatest Shaolin Monk in all of history... At the speed Superman is travelling, you'll look like you're standing still... Can you imagine trying to 'avoid' a bullet??

And EVEN if Superman decides to move at normal speed, nothing the BAT can do with his human physical strength can even budge superman... you can't kung-fu an immovable object (relatively, supe would be immovable to any humans).
