I just saw that video again and you are correct. But a moment ago he said this: "I hope that it won't be 3 and half hours long because that would be too much, but it's gonna be the biggest xmen movie, that's for sure", so I guess the reference was about the running time. Oh well, we'll see

That sounds like the longest, and that he has filmed at least 3 hrs worth of film.

Unless it was very bad wording but biggest doesn't really mean the same as longest

True. I just think that this kind of movie (with future and past, with so many characters) needs at least 2 hours. Well if X2 was more that 2 hours, then this one should be more than X2. At least I hope so.

Yeah. Why does The Hobbit, a short little book get turned into 9 hours?? X-Men: DOFP needs to be at least longer than X2. At least

Peter Jackson explained that in an interview and why he had to do 3 movies instead of just 2.

But I think "box-office success" is also a major factor.

I strongly believe it was the studio's direction and "order" to become a trilogy. Unless Peter Jackson is so good in pursuing the studio and the producers to complete his projects however he likes. And who wouldn't like an XMEN real trilogy (to be filmed together and then seperate)?

Well in my opinion a trilogy made like LOTR is much more coherent than 3 films made separately, with different budget and conditions. Imagine if X1-2-3 were filmed together. I know that this couldn't have happened for various reasons but that would have worked much better. This is just my thought.

I don't know about. I don't think I want a trilogy that looks like they were made at the same time/same year and a trilogy that feels like they all happened around the same time.

Well X1-2-3 were not different time periods. I mean it could be a year from eachother. But imagine if, for instance, Nightcrawler made an appearance in X3 as well, just because they were filmed together and they didn't cut him because of budget. Also imagine a better X3 as a result of a better production, by all means (budget, deadline etc). One story in 3 acts. Anyway these are just thoughts. I mean, it would be very difficult and I don't think the studio's would be interested as such. In any case, we will get DOFP (and AoA later on), which I never even imagined, watching in the big screen. So I'm good :P

there's always somebody that says a movie "doesnt need to be that long" does it really matter if you watch it once? maybe you dont need to see a 2.5 hr long movie. i'd watch a 3 hr long movie if it meant more action.

I really don't understand that comment of Avengers dragging on, I've never once felt that way, and I've watched it dozens of times. Same thing with The Dark Knight.

For a movie with two casts and dozens of fan favorite characters, 2.5 hrs would be pretty ideal..
3 might be pushing it, unless the movie is absolutely perfect and epic
just as long as it's not sub 2 hours like Thor 2 or X3

studios have to pick their length of films carefully, because to audiences no matter how much action or drama you do they can still get fatigued with the movie, and in the end its better for audiences to want more then to get tired of what they are seeing

so i'm expecting 2:10 or if lucky 2:30 as personally

Here is a lame (and probably not true) "insider scoop" from IMDB, with some incoherent information on the film.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
I want to be excited about this movie. Waiting for something to catch my interest. Well...

When Bryan Singer stated he was doing away with the black leather costumes in this movie, he was telling the truth. Really! Waiting on this trailer to premiere; however, I highly doubt this will be incorporated. It sounds like such an amazing twist in the movie (visually speaking), that it would pay off best if not seen till you go see it...

There is a big moment in the past that effects multiple things in the future, including the intentionally dark appearance of the X-MEN costumes. A great war of course is taking place in the future and although specific events do change, the "Apocalypse" is an "unstoppable event". During a point when we are flashed back to the future, amidst the dark, hopeless setting the screen/mood is suddenly morphed/lit up by the X-MEN's new suits and addition of characters. It is supposedly amazing.

I wonder...

By trying to stop this "apocalypse", have they have awakened/gained a certain entity's interest? I have not followed Apocalypse's story from the comics and hardly remember him from the 90's cartoon, but this would be a great way to introduce him.

Lastly, I asked about Quicksilver. All I got was: "No idea."

Don't even understand half the things that was said by this poster, but it's something to talk about.

Edit: I don't know why I put that in spoilers...this is the spoilers thread..

I had a theory that due to changes in the past, suddenly the future gets changed one small bit at a time. Eventually the team is huge and in colorful costumes. Maybe with Cyke back in the lead.

It's been said nothing changes till wolverine returns to future body.

I think If we do see Cyclops or jean It will be at end of film In whatever changes happens to future or as Bryan Singer says using time travel to fix a few things.

But there Is always possibilty you could be right especilly with report of stunt double for Famke Janssen.

Yep.It's defently possible you could be right. That would explain the Famke Janssen having stunt double report. If James Marsden was indeed on same flight with halle Berry that could
also mean he could be part of fighting In changing future.

That is a really good interesting way to bring them back in an engaging way for the audience to want more.

Having them appear for a minute in a peaceful timeline, smiling, isn't enough. If they are back and part of the action due to screw ups in the past would be epic and exciting. Ok I dont wanna even speculate anymore, this stuff should be surprising.

There was no rumors that he wakes up in mid trance, in an interview it was said there would be so be complications in past that would effect his future body, where were these rumours? From what I know they are either non existent rumors or you just confused yourself after reading it

It's already been said nothing changes till he returns, there was also rumours by several sources including by someone who posted here that said be timeline split and the original OT timeline will get a happy ending with cameos while the FC timeline moves on ahead differently, they were rumours, the wake up mid trance was never a rumour I heard

That imdb thing would only make sense from a fans wishful thinking point of view
