Default What Do You Want: Older Batman or Young Batman?

What do you want for the character of Batman in the upcoming film?

Younger Batman - ages 20-30
Classic Batman - ages 30-35
Older Batman - Age 35+

I don't want some young 20 something playing Batman. I want a 40 year old Batman. Rough, wise and powerful.

You?

I'd like a younger one in his first year. I know that's traditionally 25, but I'd like to see his first year be at about 30.

The actor playing Batman will probably be around Cavill's age. The character will probably be in his mid-thirties (or older), like Superman. I can't see them making Batman younger.

Batman Year One, smarty pants.

Begins was obviously inspired by Year One, but I'd like a Batman that's still learning and constantly criticizing himself.

I thought he was around 25 in Year One? Begins takes place around/on his 30th birthday.

I'd like him to at least be known to the people of Gotham and not someone who has just started out. I'd go for 30-35...

I'd like too see him in the mid point, but I'm basing it a little off tdk series which is a mental no-no but I can't help it. I'd like him a year or so after tdk so maybe 32-36 so be has prime fighting capability and still enough agility to make a new, refreshing fight style. Also, I don't know about you but I like a batman with limits that has a great knowledge of gadgets that become useful.

An older Batman. You can still go with Nolan's "Trilogy," but have this same Batman return when the world needs him again. Okay, Bale won't be in it, but some continuity could still be there with cameos by Caine and Oldman or others.

I definitely would like them to stay away from a reboot!

A 35ish Bruce Wayne that has been operating mostly in the shadows as Batman for 3 to 5 years.

They're definitely going for a young Batman. And I'd prefer it that way. This is the beginning of the DCU here. He should be late 20's-early 30's...same age as the actor.

I'd like to see him slightly older and more experienced than Clark, having faced early Batman villains like the Joker, the Penguin, Clayface, Scarecrow, etc. but not ones like Freeze, Ra's, Bane, Two-Face, Ivy, etc. Maybe it's something like Batman had been active before Superman, but was doing it so in the shadows that he's in full "urban legend" mode until relatively recently.

Partly because I don't think a "Year One" Batman could just walk into Metropolis and have a "What to Do if Superman and I fight" plan, especially with Superman a relatively new hero as well.

A Bruce that is around the same age as Clark. It doesn't work for him to be older since this is coming off of Superman's origin story but he shouldn't be too young that he hasn't started being Batman yet. So early 30's.

He should be about the same age as Superman.

I scratch my head when I see names like Jim Caviezel (who once played Cavill's father) and Josh Brolin (who was married to Diane Lane, who just played Cavill's mother) suggested. Batman shouldn't come off like Superman's dad.

I wouldn't say Batman in The Dark Knight series was in much of a prime or midpoint. Out of the nine or so years the series takes place in, he was only Batman for maybe a year and a half.

Around the same age, as equals.

A Year Zero Batman would make Batman the Robin and this Superman the more mature head of the relationship -- odd dynamic given the setting.

An older Batman as a mentor figure informing Superman of his superhero morals smacks of Batgod Batman.

I don't want any NU52 influence in the least. None of this "Batman has been operating in the shadows and is 10 times more experienced at being a superhero than the entire JLA combined" horse puckey (Excuse my language. ) No, I want a Batman that is around the same age as Cavil. And I want a Batman that has made his leap into the public view a short time after Superman became known to the public. Having Bats be older will just play up the paternalistic crap Superman fans hate. I don't think Batman has to be a condescending ass hat to be interesting.
