But that scene of her showing electricity never made the final cut. So who knows if thats really her mutant ability, who knows if she was just charging and that electricity will turn to fireworks?
Anyway, if they wanted to include another member in the X-Men or the mutant team, like incase they don't have to meet another mutant group. Jubilee could have been a good choice especially we saw her in X2/X3. Part of me thinks they should have included Jubilee/Angel in DOFP rather than introducing Sunspot/Blink/Warpath. Its cool that we have characters that we haven't seen before, but I don't think those 3 will be given enough screentime, so they should have probably went with the mutants that we already have seen before.

I Just noticed there is snow on the ground in the picture with Storm looking up. I wonder if that means its winter, lol.
Storm, will layeth, the smacketh down, on those sentinels! It would be cool to see her and Magneto doing toe to toe with them, but I don't think that will happen. |

For me, it wasn't until X3 that I finally felt that Halle Berry started to seriously embody Storm. Although I must admit she was very close to being "there" in X1. X2 was a total miss for me.
For Halle, so much of what needs to be done to capture the character involves her voice, visual aesthetics and the degree of fierceness in her action scenes. For example, Halle is naturally very soft-spoken. But even with her attempt at an accent in X1 that soft-spoken nature worked better towards a more authentic take on Storm. And even though the X1 wig was terrible (they should've gone with the bang-less look) she at least looked like Storm. After all, Storm really has only two iconic looks: her long flowing hair (most iconic) and the Mohawk. Yet, by time X2 came around, they had completely Americanized her--dropped the accent, gave her Soccer-Mom hair, etc. That's when I started seeing Halle in a Clairol commercial for X-Men. ![]() What I'm liking so far from the trailer footage is that Bryan doesn't seem to be dumping the fierce nature of Storm from X3, but rather building on that theme. That scene of her summoning lighting is like NOTHING we've EVER seen in one of Bryan's previous X-films! ![]()

I'm crossing my fingers that she will try to have an accent in DoFP (I know it's unlikely but I can dream can't I?).

^ I think that Bryan knows how beloved and hated his choice for Storm has been over the last 13 years. And I also believe that while he probably wasn't too enthusiastic about adding the character in 1999 (Marvel and FOX insisted that Storm be in X1 since she is the X-Men's most recognizable heroine), he's become a lot more invested in both her and Halle Berry as an actress. I'm keenly interested in how he develops Storm now; it's been over 10 years since he's touched the character. Was he impressed or inspired by what Bret Ratner did with Storm in X3? I seem to see elements of that remaining for some reason.

X3 was terrible and the things they made Storm do were totally out of character like barking at Rogue for wanting to take the cure. I agree X1 was by far the best in look and characterization but X3 was the worst by far, for me at least.

TBH that is one of my favorite lines from the movies when she says there is no cure because there's nothing to be cured, nothing wrong with her or anyone. Much, much better than "Mutant and proud"

^But it shouldn't have come from Storm. So many other characters could have said this who are more blunt and to the point like Wolverine. Storm is not a person who yells for people to get her point across. She speaks calmly and firmly and never has to repeat herself because her presence speaks more than her voice but her voice is commanding also.
Sorry but that is what I always imagined of Storm and the only time Halle ever even seemed to try to do this was in X1. |

I dunno about that: Storm in the comics would certainly chastise Rogue for wanting to take a pill to be "normal". However, while I agree with you that Storm was a bit rough on the edges in X3, I appreciate the film most for its interpretation of her powers. She finally got to do everything including flight and actually kicking a lot of ass.

![]() Professor X was playing neutral on the subject which effectively gave tacit approval to Rogue. When Storm realized that she quickly gave a counter-opinion for Rogue to consider. She didn't yell at Xavier or Rogue--she addressed them both respectfully but firmly. However, I agree she was definitely offended by the entire concept.
