Umm how? The Wolverine is nearing the $250m mark and it will get there once The Wolverine opens in China. Of course DOFP is gonna get a $150 million boost from the goodwill of First Class/The Wolverine, inflated ticket prices and 3d tickets. Plus DOFP is featuring more mutants and bigger stars and it has a better release date.

And The Wolverine didn't get $100 million boost from First Class simply because its story wasn't set after First Class. But DOFP is set after the events of The Wolverine, First Class and X3 and its basically the All-Stars movie of this franchise.

Hmm I prefer RT ratings than IMDb ratings.

All of Christopher Nolan's films (that he directed) made it to top 250. I've seen better films but they aren't in the top 250. Man of Steel got a higher rating than all X-Men movies except for First Class.

First Class/The Wolverine are just the calm before the storm.

It has an ideal holiday release date (vs. FC's June release and TW's late summer date). That has to add significantly to the Overall Box office take of the movie.

that's not bad for X-men, but i'm not putting to much thought into IMDB though
Hmmm...So it's a 10 year poll. But why 2014? considering we're only 2013.

I know this is just one magazine, but Id like to see DOFP moving some spots before the actual trailer:

Totalfilm site Most Popular films:

1 Gravity
2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2
3 Avengers 2: Age Of Ultron
4 2 Guns
5 Thor: The Dark World
6 The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug
7 X-Men: Days Of Future Past
8 Guardians Of The Galaxy
9 Avatar 2
10 The Conjuring

http://www.totalfilm.com/news/

The movie used to be on top 3 when some interviews or tweets came, but now, even with some interviews on these latest weeks, its loosing positions.

Again, dont start another war because of a simple post. This is just one magazine.
I just love to see the movie on top 3s.

I guess if one new official pic comes in the next weeks, it will move up some spots. So lets wait for that

Hmm I don't give much attention to Total Film's list. Its a website for a magazine and a lot of magazines out there has a list like that featured on their website.

Days of Future Past deals with even more complicated problems.I can't expect kids these days to enjoy it so much as The Avengers.
The Avengers was easy to understand.A super villain with an army of monsters gets hold of a powerful weapon and six superheroes stop him.DOFP deals with time travel and alternate timelines. It is going to be very tough for general audiences to understand such stuff
With the success of The Avengers i worry Fox will dumb down the X-Franchise to a simple kid-friendly action comedy affair.

TDK trilogy was bleak and more crime drama than anything else. the X-Men franchise deals with persecution which is more relatable, plust the things you mentioned

I thing the X-Men franchise has a great record of brillaint openenings.

X1 - Young Eriks powers manifest.
X2 - Nightcrawler attacks the President
X3 - Jeans introduction (not so much this one)
XMO:W - Logans powers manifest plus the awesome opeing credits
XMFC - Youn Erik witnesses his mothers murder
TW - Wolverine gets hit by an Atomic Bomb.

I have faith in Bryan Singer as far as X-Men movies are concerned.X-Men 1 and 2 were fantastic.I would have been happier if he directed all the X-Men movies.

Singer won't make this film with kids in mind but obviously FOX will want it family friendly and singer will have to stick to that

I guess you got momentary amnesia while you were writing that and totally blanked on X3 & XOW.

The Avengers had the right tone IMO.

Just because it's child friendly that doesn't equal bad. Only if it dumbs down dark themes for kids.

at the "Nolan's Batman movies don't have a dark tone such as X-men". They are actually quite a bit darker, but X-men does in fact tackle some serious subjects.

As for the general audiences not understanding time travel...

Fans on the internet need to get off their high horse as if they're all smarter than the people who make up the general audience. People have been watching movies with time travel for decades. Biggest examples, Back to the Future trilogy and the Terminator films. A lot if not most of the GA(minus teenie boppers who will spend most of their time on their phones during the film and not paying attention)should have no problem understanding this film. This isn't the first film to deal with time travel and from what we've heard, it sounds a lot simpler than what the Terminator franchise did.

Not hard to do when Captain America really only had one scene with Nazis...that get killed by the Red Skull. The focus was entirely on Hydra, who were not the Nazis.

Amen. I always laugh when i read stuff like that on the net. Like the general audience is some hoard of dumb zombified people who can't understand complex themes. Please. Inception did fine, Minority Report did fine. Saying X-men is less successful than Avengers simply because its more complicated is hogwash. Just because audiences like one thing more than another doesnt mean they don't understand both.
