So Johnny Depp can turn Batman into an oddball Tim Burton-style Johnny Depp character?

All signs are pointing to this actor taking a 2 movie deal with WB moving on to a younger actor for prequels films OR recasting for "old man Bruce" and casting a young actor for Terry McGinnis.

This is why Bale is still a possibility no matter what they say currently, and people like Brolin, etc are more likely to sign because they have a convenient contract.

Oh really? I never knew about the prequel stuff. That could actually really work. In that case it could be a two picture deal.

That prequel thing is actually a great idea as it would take it far away from the Marvel route.

Michael Fassbender should have made this post.

Well me and another poster came up with the prequel idea which I quite like, but id say it could be on the table if they want to delay the eventual Batman Beyond adaptation. It kinda makes sense if they cast an older actor for 2 roles in a Miller-esque style, then do solo films where the character is in his 30s in a Conroy-esque style

Yeah that is a great idea I'd be 100% onboard with that.

The new director would have the freedom to do what he/she wants without having to worry about "where's Superman during this!? where's Wonder Woman!? we have to end this movie to tie in with the sequel to Justice League!" because it's ALL before they ever met.

Thank goodness. I'd hate to be a douche like you. I was not aware that there's a particular mold needed to enjoy comic books or comic book films.

Yeah. It's the show's fault that comic book nerds get their bad name from.

I find the show funny.

I don't think it does that at all.

When you stereotype yourself into one big group, "an us" that is what gives you a bad name.

Well, the show can get quite irritating. Im no nerd or comic book geek but I get geeky with certain characters...but one thing I do know, is that BBT gives those geeks a bad name because of how annoying those characters are.

This.

i don't think it's funny at all, it's really immature humor. And a lot of people assume all comic book nerds are like the weirdos on BBT

Hated the show, then friends turned me on to the early seasons. Which I found funny (at times). Then it got REALLY annoying. Now I hate it. Full circle. Nolan would be proud!

So say someone acts like a character on the BBT in real life? They're weird?

Please, tell us, what way should "We" all act?

So someone says "bazinga" and he's not one of "you"

I don't understand what you're saying.

And there I was thinking BBT was overrated by everyone. I'm not alone

Victor Webster (from Mutant X and Continuum)

He's 40 and 6'3. He was a contender for the Superman role 10 years ago. He's older now so he could be an older Bruce Wayne/Batman. Although I think he would've been a good Superman a decade ago.

So, I guess this guy would be like Hamm, Bomer or Manganiello in the "Almost Superman but now he can be Batman instead" category.

Fassbender as Batman.

Can we handle that as a group? Maturely? Without several changes of underwear?

Act the way you want, but if anybody was like Sheldon Cooper I wouldn't be able to handle that after a few minutes. He can be funny as a character sometimes, a real ******* which is great but most of the time it's like this overboard "im a nerd, im a weirdo scientist dude who doesn't stop talking". Then you have Penny who thinks she's hilarious, which she's not. Then the whiniest nerd of all time. It's basically saying "cool kids if you want to know what geeks are like, this is how it would play out. Theyre like extra-terrestrial acting weirdos, 1 is a pervert, another a whiny doofus, etc". Like all the bad qualities a person can have LOL, in one group.

I think we can. For the "two franchises cannot share the same actor" idea, I think that's baloney on epic proportion. Heck, Reynolds was both in Marvel AND DC, though he might not be the best example.

Fassbender was always my first pick to replace Bale so id do jumping jacks with a sock on my junk, running around the neighborhood only holding a bottle of jack daniels....with a pleasant smile on my face. Yep, I don't give a damn! That's how happy id be.

Yeah it sounds great. The only issue I'd have is if the performance in SvB doesn't really allude to anything in his past.

For example (if you ignore the books for a second) the character of Bilbo in Lord of the Rings, the way he is written there is loads of potential to see his past as all you have to do is look at Ian Holm's performance to know this character has been through ****. Same for the Star Wars universe, even though the prequels ended up crap the original three gave lots of interesting points fom where a prequel could be born. Monsters University though seems to be an example of a forced prequel. I imagine when M Inc 2 was announced we all thought "cool" then when we heard it was a prequel the majority went "why?".

I just hope this doesn't lie into the same trap. As long as the Wayne in SvB looks like some sort of tortured soul who has clearly been through some crap and kinda alludes to it then I wont mind. However, if the Wayne is really bland I probably wouldn't care as throughout the prequel I'd likely think "well this is very cool but I don't see how this leads into the guy we saw in SvB as he was bland as hell".
