enjoyed tom's performance but preferred Kurse over Malkeith and Loki in the movie. Also hope Odin is not dead as that would be seriously underwhelming. it was bad enough losing Frigga who was probably my favourite character from the movie

I love this! Made it myself.

I don't have the money for better software, so this is made using Paint tools, Windows Movie Maker, and video to gif converter and taking it frame by frame.

Too bad this scene wasn't in the film. Would have loved to have heard that scream.

I think the better strategy would be to kill Odin off screen. But then again an actor like say Michael Gambon, who had the daunting task of replacing Richard Harris, could ablely fill Hopkins shoes.

Saw the movie this past weekend and Hiddleston again turned in a stellar performance. Watching Hiddleston's third movie playing the role is a blast. He always does a fantastic job bringing Loki to life on the big screen, and making him a thoroughly fascinating and compelling character. Loki is definitely one of the most exciting comic book villains to be brought to the silver screen.

You know, one thing that kept going on in my mind when I was watching this film was how the folks over at Tumblr are going to have a field day with their manips, gifs, and music videos involving Loki and even for those who strangely ship Loki and Thor together.lol

But on another note, I gotta say that for someone who's responsible for killing several people on Earth....if the film's objective was to get people to still find a way to care about Loki, they succeeded, since you just couldn't help but feel sorry for Loki (in a way) when it came to his relationship to his mother and even his complicated one with Thor.

I mean for someone who can be somewhat the evil villain when he chooses to be, the fact that he still had fond memories/feelings for his mother was a interesting layer for the character.

They should go for the original choice Brian Blessed.

Assuming if they didn't really kill off Odin off-screen, I kind of hope that by the end of the third film, Odin and Loki find some kind of closure with each other.

Also, I hope the third film gives an good explanation regarding Loki's "death" scene from this film...If he really did die, then it would make his sacrifice genuine for Thor.

However, if he planned it all out, then I guess there goes that character development out of the window that he had with Thor at the last moment.

Oh jeez no...I hope you're just joking that he was their original choice. Flashbacks of him in Flash Gordon and his over the top campy performance keep popping up in my head. They're better off with a guy like Michael Gambon. He'd handle the character with more gravitas. I do love Brian Blessed's over the top style but I just could not take him as Odin seriously.

I'm going to wager that Tom may have had some creative input for Loki's dialogue in the movie.

Let's not forget his relationship with Odin. One thing that makes Loki sympathetic for me is Odin. Odin is a real dick! That beginning scene where he told Loki that he was going to have him executed and the only reason he didn't was because of Frigga....yeah, that sealed my impression of his royal a**hole that is Odin. To add insult to injury telling him his birthright was to die on a frozen rock if it hadn't been for him. OUCH! Wound, Meet Salt.

Interesting thing to think about if this is in fact the case *lol*

http://mudokun.tumblr.com/post/69688...1048-years-old
Quote:
Loki’s age is 1048 years old

According to the captions of the first Thor movie, the battle between the Jotuns and Asgardians take place in Norway, 965 AD. Around this time, Loki was born.

In Thor 2 the life expectancy was stated to be around 5,000. The average human life in developed countries from what I’ve gathered is approximately 82.

Therefore, in human years Loki is somewhere around 17.

Brian Blessed isn't always over the top like he was in Flash Gordon. Watch any of his roles in Kenneth Branagh's Shakespearean movies. Blessed's performances are much more understeted. I'm glad we got Hopkins as Odin as I enjoy him in the role. Blessed would of made a great volstagg.

Agreed. And I don't say that just because I'm star struck. He really was that good.
