Fine by me if true. I would rather it be late than rush production just to hit an arbitrary deadline.

Well of course. And if it hit later into the holiday of 2015 or whatever. But some seem to forget that casting calls are out, and they've confirmed the casting sheets. And Drew if we are going off of AICN rumor people said that it was further along then most think. But right now we are all in the dark with it. Hopefully Disney comes out and says something because it's clear that they know of the backlash they have received from the press with the lack of news with D23.

It said that they wouldn't be ready to start filming until late 2014, or something to that effect.

EPISODE VII won't be filming until LATE 2014 at the EARLIEST (at least, according to certain sources...).

I don't buy it but it needs to be confirmed as false before people push the panic button.

Robert was just guessing. (BTW, I have nothing against Robert or anything)

It's just a lot of knee-jerking through what he had heard from his sources. But I don't it holds any weight (yet). For example:

Quote:
Robert Meyer Burnett

Wanna' know when to expect EPISODE VII? Look to when they've booked the stages at Pinewood.
Then Devin Faraci responded:

Quote:
Devin

@BurnettRM they have stages booked in January.
The production isn't as 'lost' as people think it is. After realizing that, and conversing with very own mod Jamie, Robert responded with:

Quote:
Robert

......Again...just find out when they've booked Pinewood. Late 2014 is my educated guess. And then two years in post.

BTW, Disney once again screwed up with this year's D23.

Vin Diesel has been cast as Groot in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. Instead of having the cast*, ALONG WITH DIESEL AS A SURPRISE, appear at the expo, he just does it through Facebook, with Deadline confirming the role.

*And if they can't come to Anahiem due to the shoot, then just have James Gunn do a pre-tape greeting and then bring out Diesel in person.

That's what they've done with most SW news too. Is just via internet. So I think that may be the case here too.

Yeah. Additionally, I think they'll be doing a HUGE press conference with JJ and the cast ( in the vein of how Bond movies does it) hopefully before the end of the year.

Its not like it's doom and gloom, so they push production and the release back a bit. Id rather they get it right than rush through it.

They have a block date for the UK Pinewood studios. That is why he deleted it, because he I don't think knew. To me it's just too coincidental, the second we get no news, and the internet forums start screaming doom and gloom, all these "sources" come out.

The thing is, they still maintain it's gonna be summer 2015. Fans get their hopes and excitement up, even with the lack of news. If they come out now and say it's gonna get pushed back (for more than a few months) well, fans will be pissed. And it's Star Wars fans. We must be complaining about something lol.

I think a possibility is just the shuffling around of their big four for summer. I mean they do have Pirates 5 for July, Inside Out for mid-June, The Avengers: Age of Ultron for early May. Within 2.5 months that is something they have to figure out more so. I do agree Bim it would piss off fans, and I think though they understand that. I seriously stand by the notion that Horn would not say that again if it was not the case, for damage control you don't even bring up the problem. If the date was a problem he would not have brought it up I think.

I just think they may be doing a shuffle, and trying to figure out the best strategy. I think that Episode VII has more precedence then some of the other films like Pirates 5 (which I could see them throwing to Holiday/2016 much easier).

Oh I'll be pissed and disappointed but I'll still try to look at it as a positive.

George Lucas, Wife Mellody Hobson Welcome Baby Girl Via Surrogate

Surprise! George Lucas is a dad for the fourth time! The Star Wars creator and his wife, Ariel Investments president Mellody Hobson, welcomed a daughter via surrogate on Friday, Aug. 9, Huffington Post confirms.

The new addition will join Lucas' three adopted children, Amanda, 32; Katie, 25; and Jett, 20, whom he shares Amanda with ex-wife Marcia Griffin. A name for their new daughter -- the first biological child for both parents -- has yet to be revealed.

The happy news comes just two months after Lucas, 69, and Hobson, 44, tied the knot at Skywalker Ranch, in Marin County, Calif. on June 22 after first meeting at a business conference in 2006. "How else would a financial person and a movie person ever be at the same place at the same time?" Hobson later joked during a January 2012 appearance on OWN's Oprah's Next Chapter.

The wedding -- the first marriage for Hobson and the second for Lucas -- was officiated by PBS journalist Bill Moyers and was attended by famous pals like Ron Howard, Francis Ford Coppola and Steven Spielberg.
