I really don't like Capullo, but Gleason's art has been stellar, and Fabok is really good.

I didn't like Capullo at first, but he grew on me. I think it's funny that it took me, like, 20 issues before I made the connection that he was the artist on X-Force when I first started reading comics.

And Fabok blew me away in the Batman Annual. Then I read a couple issues of Detective and loved him there. I'm eager to see where he lands after this.

It's funny because Fabok is kind of a student of finch, but I find his art to be more compelling and his characters to be more... "living".

Oh yeah. I like I Finch, but Fabok's a better artist in my opinion.

I'd love to see Breyfogle take another lengthy stab at a mainstream Batman book.

He's not quite as good as he used to be, but I still miss him drawing the Bat.

Capullo is good if you don't think of him having a chubby Bruce Timm style.

EDIT; that's how i felt when he started... and most of his action.

But, just read 24... which I thought was the first solid issue of this 'zero year' and those scenes of Bruce in Phillip's office and the whole Ace stuff was great. He should do more stuff like that, very detailed and sketched.

I'd die for a Graham Nolan comeback, What's he do these days...?

He was always my favorite 'realistic' artist.

Thought issue 24 was alright. Didn't really blow my mind. I thought alot of the book was overwritten and felt too much like a generic action movie. No weight to it at all. Decent enough to hook me for next month, but we'll see. I'm also trying to figure out where the Zero month issue fits in with this, too.

Dark Knight #0 and then Detective #0 take place prior to Year Zero starting. Batman #0 took place between scenes around issue part 2 or 3.

Thought issue #24 of Batman was really cool, but I'm a fan of Snyder and Capullo so take that as you will. Liked the new take on the first appearances of Batman, and the way it's tied in with the spin on Red Hood and Ace Chemical. The only thing that bummed me out was the artist switch at the end of the issue.

Also, cool little detail with Bruce's haircut. Very Travis Bickle.

Glad you liked it. I guess people liking this team are happy with zero year, and that's great for them.

As New York City Comic Con kicks off today, be prepared for many more comic bookannouncements, the first of which comes from USA Today that DC will start a weekly Batman comic next year. Kicking off in the spring of 2014, Batman: Eternal will be a weekly comic series (it's unclear yet if it's a digital first or print series) featuring stories from current Batman writer Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, John Layman, Ray Fawkes and Tim Seeley.

"We're gonna give you the biggest, craziest and most fun stuff we've done on the book and in the world of Gotham," Snyder said. Snyder will function as the "showrunner" for the series, guiding the story along while not officially penning the scripts.

"We want this to be a place where you get to tell a story about anything you want in Gotham, so long as we're also moving this big story forward in the background," Snyder explains. "You'll see bombastic arcs as well but there'll be plenty of room for Ray to explore some of the darker, more mystical aspects of Gotham that he loves or Tim to explore some of the crime we haven't seen before."

Snyder also teased that the stories in "Eternal" will "set the stage for a new Gotham and new characters and a new set of stories that will take Batman into 2015."

In addition, DC announced that Detective Comics #27 will be a giant-sized 104 page issue as a nod to the original Detective Comics #27 that Batman first appeared in back in 1939. The issue will feature stories by writers Paul Dini, Brad Meltzer, Gregg Hurwitz and Peter Tomasi and illustrators Neal Adams, Dustin Nguyen and Francesco Francavilla, and a two page spread by famed Batman artist Frank Miller.

Notice the one important Bat-character absent from that image? NIGHTWING. Uh-oh.

Even the return of Stephanie Brown isn't enough to get me to buy a weekly Batbook. Batman has enough titles, and I'm sure they're not doing anything in the new weekly that they couldn't do in a regular title if they wanted.

Loving Zero Year storyline........This take on the Red Hood makes more sense than Killing Joke.....You can see the Joker is coming.........

I like nod given to Detective #27 1939....The ears, the gun and the short gloves....sweet.

Most of Zero Year so far has been change for the sake of change but there have been some really cool moments, especially this issue. I loved the gag with the welcome to bat country billboard and the reverse, blackout batsignal thing was also really neat.

I'm really excited to see what the Riddler's arc is going to be like, even though I prefer a non-murderous Riddler who only wants to prove himself superior to Batman.

To be fair, you do need some change with Zero Year for the sake of change. What's the point of doing Zero Year if it's just going to be a rip-off of Year One?

That is a good point, but I think there could have been more meaning injected into the changes. They tried to make the holographic cave thing tie back to his father mapping the cave for an emotional connection, but I think that particular example failed because it ruined one of the most iconic panels in Batman (and even comic book) history.

I also don't like them tying Batman's origin to Joker's. Why do heroes and main villains always have to have a shared origin? I like the Joker being Batman's first "super" villain, but they don't need to go any further than that. Their relationship was already interesting enough without that connection.

I love zero year as much as year one. I guess fan boys will always just want one definitive and then other tellings they shun. I mean even Batman Earth One I thought was great. Am I the only one that enjoys multiple tellings and versions of my favorite character? Some things being changed/some staying the same. For the sake of keeping things fresh. I dunno maybe just me, but I don't get all the hate. The original origins are still there for you to read and enjoy.

Batman: Earth One was horrendous. Now that was a story that just simply changed things for the sake of pure needless change.
