I never said there wasn't a difference. I just don't think it's a particularly earth-shattering one. Pratt always had some chub on him, but he was always tall and athletic. You people make it sound like he was ****ing Harry Knowles or something.

Welp, looks like I was right :P This movie, in fact, does take place in a distant galaxy, and NOT in the Milky Way. As Fiege has essentially confirmed

I'm thinking it's (fin) will be like the comics, because y got people searching the net to see how the GotG looks like. IMHO like RR,they will see it as 'cool' and something different. I don't think they will go w/the same 'ol Mohawks people seen before.

Oh relax and chill out geeze. Yeah it's not an out of this world earth shattering transformation. But it's damn good. He looks badass as Starlord.

Pratt had reached 300 pounds before he started training for GOTG! THREE HUNDRED! The no. boggles my mind. He was literally like Harry Knowles.

Knowles weighed a lot more than 300 lbs. 420+ before his surgery if memory serves.

Watch season 5 of Parks and Recreation he's huge. Crazy seeing his transformation like twice as good in shape as Zero Dark Thirty

He's a big guy so his 300 lbs doesn't look quite as bad as a 5'6" blimp at 300.

Pratt has the genetic luxury of being able to get fat and thin and then buff again in a relatively short amount of time, which I envy about the bastard to be honest.

So Pratt by his own admission has been a fat guy for the last 8 years (except for the period when he shot Zero Dark Thirty). He was at 240 before that other film he did and 240 was about his average weight, remember he was a fatty before. He put on 60 pounds for this other film, reached 300!

And then he trained 6 months for GOTG and now looks like he could star in 300!

He's probably smashing the Spartacus chicken diet.

So what's everyones thoughts on what exactly the Guardians get caught up in, long shot, but could Thanos be sending Ronan to get ole Collectors gem? Feige said Gamora starts out bad, so I'm guessing she knows at least part of Ronans and in turn Thanos's plans?

We know that they will be in possession of some kind of powerful item and I assume everyone's after them for it.

It wasn't just Zero Dark Thirty. Before that, he had gotten into shape for Moneyball, and gained some of it back before booking ZDT. The guy's weight just fluctuates all the time, depending on movie roles. There were times in Parks and Rec (particularly in S4) when he wasn't even chubby at all. That kind of yo-yo-ing can't be healthy, but I do admire his dedication.

You know 300 isnt that bad when you're really tall like Pratt is right? He was just a little husky, not obese.

Taller people carry weight ALOT better than shorter like Knowles

Possibly, but it's not quite a Bale situation, where he's bouncing between being anorexic and husky and back again.

His height is apparently 6'2 which while a very good height is not like unusually tall or something. 300 pounds on 6'2 I would call obese. I have a cousin who is 6'3 and 265 pounds and he most definitely is obese.

Oh yeah I forgot about Moneyball.
I found this great interview with Pratt where he talks about his different weights for different films.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_940579.html

So apparently he was 220 for Moneyball and maybe around 235 for Zero Dark Thirty. I would image he'd be around 235ish for GOTG.

That still makes him one of the biggest guys I think in superhero movies, muscle wise. I think he's as big as Hemsworth probably if not bigger.
