I didn't move off-course, just asking if it was inspiration

A little fancast I come up with for Cameron's Spider-Man.

Peter Parker/Spider-Man

Mary-Jane Watson

Carlton Strand/Electro

Boyd/Sandman

MGM
SPIDER-MAN

Wonder why change the characters of Sandman and Electro that way

I'm gonna assume that Stan Lee would've urged him to change the names when he read the script.

Also, what do you think of my cast?

I think they are solid. I agree, I would have loved to see Dicaprio as Spidey.

Leo as Peter is such a missed oppurtunity as Mel Gibson as Batman.

I would have liked to have seen Jake G as PP/SM in Spidey 2.

I can't say I have anything to say about the cast, need to see them in the roles

Noticed that, raises questions

Maybe James Cameron was the one who changed the villains to Green Goblin before leaving

I'm willing to think his movie would have been better than any of the movies we got

You didn't like Sam Rami's Spider-Man?

I like all 4 of the Spidey films (SM2 is my least favorite, but I like it too), but none of them is really that great tbh

I mean, this is the same guy who did Terminator 2 and Aliens. I'm assuming that eventually, he realized that the script was a giant piece of ****, so he wrote his own "scriptment" with Electro and Sandman as the villains. A better movie, but back then...it could've been a masterpiece for the 90's.

Tell me more about that book. Do they talk about Cameron's movie? It sounds exactly like what the writers wrote for it.
I've only read the first two stories in the book, the first being about Doc Ock and Spider-Man's origin, and the second story which takes place during the events of Amazing Spider-Man #7. There are some stories featuring Sandman, Venom, Lizard, and much more, so when I get further into it I'll describe them later on.

I wouldn't necessarily call that a "rip-off," but rather an inspiration. There were many, many drafts written for the first Spider-Man film, all of which borrowed some elements from each other.

Nikki Cox is MJ. I assumed that Cameron was going to use her as MJ, she has a cameo in T2. Sandman is being played by Lance Henriksen, a frequent collaborator with Cameron.

Also, that pic with Green Goblin is fan-made. I think Green Goblin was rumored to be the villain then so they put him on the poster. The villains were set to be Electro and Sandman.

Based on what I've heard, it sounds like the Cameron Spider-Man film would have been really good at the time with special effects and all, but it would have felt very 90s.

SM1 only feels dated because of its effects, but everything else holds up well IMO.

Yes!! That was what I was trying to emphasize from before. In the 90's, Spider-Man would've been a masterpiece. The special effects would've been totally out of its time. It would've set a whole new standard for CBMs, after Batman Forever and Batman and Robin...it seemed like all hope was lost.

I really would have loved to see what Cameron's Spider-Man would have been like to be honest. Does anyone know if his script is online somewhere? I was only able to find the Doc Ock one.

Is this the one? This is a really good script, despite the dark atmosphere. It would've been nice to see a darker and edgier superhero movie in the 90's after Batman And Robin?
