BBC America series The Doctors Revisited is set to air in the UK on Watch.

The documentary series, which ties in with Doctor Who's 50th anniversary celebrations, dedicates each episode of its 11-part run to a different incarnation of the Time Lord

The 8th Doctor revisited segment was a waste. They were unable to secure McGann for the segment and it consisted mostly of the doctor from the film talking about how she's grown to understand Doctor Who and the fandom.

Not to mention the whole thing was them giving a point by point summary of the entire movie, minutes before showing the actual movie.

Well, I've just found out I'm going to be away at a comic con on the weekend of the 50th. It's going to be interesting to see what happens because usually they have a big party on the Saturday night. I dunno if they'll do a big screening of the episode or what. Just now I have plans with my con mates to go to the geeky pub and watch it there.

I'm wondering if they'll feature the actors who played the Doctor, but as different characters since they're now a bit too old to pass as who they once were. (4-7)

Would kind of fulfil that "love letter" thing that Moffat mentioned.

What was the reason Time Crash gave for 5 looking older again? Anyway, whatever it was, they could just do that again. Considering it's a special occasion I doubt anybody would mind...

I do not remember the specific technical terms, but, the essence was that 5 'aged' to match the age of '10.'

I looked it up:
5 looks older in TC because he and 10 "shorted out the time differential between them" which -I suspect- is one of those brilliant non-explanations Doctor Who does so well.
The kind that sounds good until you give it a moments thought... at which point you realise that it doesn't make any sense at all.

But yeah, they can just do that again.

Yeh, the idea was that the done broke it so 5 looked how he would have if he'd been 5 all the years that it had taken to get to 10...

Even that sounds bollocks...

Ah, the Trial. The year they finally got the 6th Doctor just right, found a new companion that works better for him, and then lost it all because of some evil BBC execs.

Back when Douglas Adams was the script editor, he injected a lot of humor into the show, but sometimes the man just didn't know when to stop. Apparently "The Horns of Nimon" was intended to be a serious story until Adams got ahold of the script. You'd never know...

Why didn't anyone tell me Brian Blessed was in the Trial arc? I would've watched it sooner.

Just watched the first season of "Luther" with Paul McGann....now I'm actually kind of annoyed that they're using a Doctorbutnotdoctor incarnation for the 50th

Agreed. However, I'll forgive it if he actually does appear and/or the Hurt "Doctor" is revealed to be an early/earlier manifestation of The Valeyard.

Him being the Valeyard would be great...but part of me thinks that isnt going to happen.

Ditto. However, the similarities between Hurt's Doctor (based on all of the details that have leaked out) and the Valeyard are quite numerous.

Also, the mentioning of The Valeyard in The Name of the Doctor also seems significant to me.

The fact that they even mentioned that name means that we'll probably see him become the Valeyard during his Twelfth incarnation as previously mentioned in the series. Also, that we could see something regarding him in the near future.

It does seem he's the one after McGann, but I have thought about this concept. It could be their loophole around The Doctor not wanting to label Hurt 'The Doctor'. "And he will have other names before the end. Storm. The Beast. The Valeyard."

It is certain we will see the time war in the special. We could be set in this environment, but is it of the Hurt Doctor's doing? Who knows, we could see a comparison of two conflicts. "It was a minor skirmish by the Doctor's blood-soaked standards. Not exactly the Time War, but enough to finish him."

Doctor: Its now which regeneration I am but what I doooooo that defines me.
Clara: ... Peter Capaldi?
Doctor: Whoosh!

Sry couldn't help myself.

I feel like Moffat's been building to the idea that the Doctor's going to turn bad for a while. The Church army being set up to fight him, the perception of him in the Pandorica story and the Valeyard references in the previous episode. I'm guessing we'll see that get picked up with the show supposedly getting darker.

I saw that pop up on Steven Moffat's fan page on Facebook, but they never cited where exactly the quote came from. And neither have you. Do we really know if that's real?
