Great thread idea dude !

my advice as follows:

1) the aesthetic, the real world feel of MOS and TDK, make sure that
stays, all those little shots of the Kent farm, the clothesline in the rain,
etc. remind us we're supposed to believe it's a real world.....just one where aliens who can fly show up.
keeping the aesthetic would be a great starting point.

2) continuity: have elements from MOS present e.g. some salvaged kryptonian tech from the crashed scout-ship, also people's reaction
to the existence of Superman, and the aftermath of the Kryptonian
near-apocalypse.
Most importantly, have Cavill's characterization of Superman be consistent, that he's actually Clark Kent first and foremost, sometimes
known as Kal-El, but that Superman's just something other people call him, and at heart he's a farm-boy from Kansas.

3) Focus on the two main characters. Maybe only have one , at most
two villains. If you think about it MOS had one main character, one villain, and pretty much everyone else was a supporting role -they were great in those roles, but that way we could focus on the main character.

As such, the villain needs to be someone both SM and BM can deal with,
which makes Luthor the best choice. For the same reason, it can't be the
Joker, that character is too big to fit in this film.

Other than that, if they keep doing what they're doing, I can't see it being less than a great watch. Peace.

It's not unusual for an actor as big as Affleck too not have to audition. Director's try to get A-list actors for roles, rather than A-list actors trying to get a role off of a director. Hence, no audition.

Give Goyer the story, hire another screenwriter.

I agree. Minus the panties

Though I wouldn't flip my lid if they were there.

I would advise them to get rid of the whole "This Batman is in his 40's and is older and more experienced than Superman" idea. Stick to the Batman/Superman dynamic of the comics.

The mentor idea is retarded IMO. No matter how you execute it, you will make either Superman or Batman look bad. If Batman is older and more experienced than Superman, you make Superman bad for obvious reasons many Superman fans have already stated (you essentially make him more like Robin).

But if Batman is on par with Superman despite being older, you make Batman look bad. Especially by the time Justice League rolls around. I'm assuming the rest of the team will be closer to Superman's age. What does it say about Batman if he has to be an entire decade older than the rest of the team just to be on par with their "Year One" versions? What does that say about this Batman's abilities back during his own "Year One"? That would mean this Batman was just as weak as Nolan's Batman was in BB/TDK when he started out. Maybe a bit above that level, but definitely not on par with Comic Book Batman during Comic Book Batman's own Year One. Which means that again we are getting a watered down Batman on the big screen - only this time it won't be as noticeable due to this Batman being older and more experienced.

^ Yeah. Affleck looks somewhat youthful. If Superman's 33, than Batman should be 36. This is still a late thirties Batman, but one that is within peer range of Superman. He, of course, will still ACT superior and standoffish, but Superman should be the more "adult" of the two

^ If I had WB mandate ONE thing for MOS2, it would be natural colors

^ I was suggesting the opposite. MOS had a desaturated "chalky" look to it.
Something vibrant is what I have in mind

I'd like them to give it a "real" title without the words Batman or Superman in it- the way they do with James Bond movies. It just seems classier to me.

I have no idea what that title could be. Too bad "Clash of the Titans" is already taken.
