Nadal is returning from New Jersey and Djokovic sends another short return long! 30-30

Nadal stick save return and Djokovic nets another easy short ball!

Unbelievably it is set point Nadal

Forehand down the line is too hot!

Two set lead for Nadal

Djokovic must be sick.

This so reminds me of Gulbis-Nadal

ANOTHER long rally and Nole from 30-0 up loses the third set!!! Monster forehand from Nadal on set point that Nole got his racquet on but the force of it was just too much as Nole's ball sails out.

That's just vintage Nadal to find that forehand down the line, which hasn't been landing, and on set point... BAM!

15-30 shanked forehand up the line. Nadal is back positioned on top of the baseline.

Drop shot sits up, Djokovic is on it but slides in and nets a drop volley. 30-30

A loooong rally ends with an identical Nadal dropped and Djokovic hits a nuts sliding half volley break point

Djokovic sprays a forehand. Deuce.

Djokovic lays into a short ball that Nadal sends wide. Should have followed that ball in, but hey, he won the point. Break point

Trusty slice serve into the ad court and Djokovic just misses a Yankee return. Deuce!

Djokovic comes in and misses a sinking Nadal shot.

Forehand down the line and smash finish this game.

1-1 Djokovic is a disaster at the moment. Nadal is winning every critical point

Djoker with a beauty serve out wide which he came behind only to miss the easy put away. 0-15.

Nadal in the zone this set applying the pressure on Nole after a ripping forehand that Nole had no reply to as his backhand goes directly in the net. 0-40.

Djokovic takes a backhand in the air and sends it long and wide. Awful. 0-15

Forehand is way wide. 0-30 Djokovic is disintegrating

Nadal plays an aggressive point hits a deep curving approach and Djokovic nets it. Triple break

Serve and volley saves one. 15-40

Let cord winner saves the next, 30-40

Nadal's return is short, and Nadal guesses right and hammers a forehand down the line.

This match feels like it's about over, but I wouldn't bet on it

Luck on the side of Nole as his backhand clips the tape and Rafa can't get to it. 30-40.

And yet again Rafa with his forehand down the line pass to confirm the break. 2-0 Rafa.

Returning deep up the middle to Nadal's forehand has been a winning formula.

Djokovic misses a second serve, hacking the ball into the net

The ol slice comes back at and the change of pace has Djokovic back in the net. 15-30

Djokovic sends a forehand up the line, well, up the double's line. 40-15

Short return and Nadal is all over it. 3-0

At this time last year Rafael Nadal was fishing. Now he's three games away from his second US Open. Not counting out Djoker just yet but is starting to look like Rafa's night.

Novak holds for 1-3. We saw Vika come back from 4-1 yesterday. C'mon Nole!

WOW. Djoker was dictating that rally, came up to net after a deep slice and STILL lost the point after another stunning pass from Rafa. 15-15.

Novak comes in to net after an excellent forehand and puts away the volley. 15-0.

Novak at 30-0 after another attempt at net play which pays off.

30-15 after Novak dumps a forehand in the net. Dammit.

Now 30-30 after another forehand error from Nole this time well wide.

Dooms day for Nole as he sprays a backhand long while trying to go down the line. Break point Rafa.

Nadal comes in and hits a poor stab volley which Novak gets to but he hits the backhand out again! Rafa breaks! Serving for it at 5-1!
